Synthesis and antibacterial activities of cadiolides A, B and C and analogues
2015
International audience; The one-pot multicomponent synthesis of natural butenolides named cadiolides A, B, C and analogues has been realized. The antibacterial structure activity relationship shows that the presence of phenolic hydroxyl groups and the number and position of bromine atoms on the different aromatic rings are important features for antibacterial activity, besides it was demonstrated the tolerance of both benzene and furan ring at position 3 of the butenolide nucleus. Furthermore, none of the most relevant antibacterial compounds showed any cytotoxicity in freshly isolated human neutrophils.
Il dibattito sul federalismo nel secondo dopoguerra
2018
Anaerobic digestion of grass silage in batch leach bed processes for methane production.
2007
Abstract Anaerobic digestion of grass silage in batch leach bed reactors, with and without a second stage upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor, was evaluated. Sixty six percent of the methane potential in grass was obtained within the 55 days solids retention time in the leach bed–UASB process without pH adjustment, whereas in the one-stage leach bed process 20% of the methane potential in grass was extracted. In two-stage operation, adjustment of the pH of influent to the leach bed reactor to 6 with HCl led to inhibition of both hydrolysis/acidogenesis and methanogenesis. In the leach bed–UASB process 39% of the carbohydrates and 58% of the acid soluble lignin were solubilised wi…
Projekts: Uzņēmuma "SILVER MAGIC" dibināšana
2015
Arvien populārāks kļūst veselīgs dzīvesveids. Arvien vairāk cilvēku nodarbojas ar sportu. Taču lietojot dažādus dezodorantus, lai likvidētu nepatīkamo sviedru smaku, poras tiek aiztaisītas, āda neelpo, lietojamās vielas ir ķīmiskas un var izraisīt alerģisku reakciju. Zinot, ka sudraba galvenās īpašības – antibakteriāls, antistatisks, elastīgs, pasargā no radiācijas, tad audums, ar sudraba diegu sastāvā, ideāli domāts sporta kreklu, mājas tekstila un mobilo tālruņu aksesuāru veidošanai. Tas pasargās no sviedru smakas, likvidēs mikrobus, pasargās no nevēlamā apstarojuma. Šāds audums ir elastīgs, ilgi nēsājams, veselībai labvēlīgs. Ņemot vērā statistikas datus, izstrādājumi būs interesanti vis…
Chemistry and functional properties in prevention of neurodegenerative disorders of five Cistus species essential oils.
2013
The chemical composition of Cistus creticus, Cistus salvifolius, Cistus libanotis, Cistus monspeliensis and Cistus villosus essential oils has been examined by GC and GC–MS analysis. Height-nine constituents were identified in C. salvifolius oil, sixty in C. creticus, fifty-six in C. libanotis, fifty-four in C. villosus, forty-five in C. monspeliensis. Although the five species belong to the same genus, the composition showed interesting differences. Essential oils were screened also for their potential antioxidant effects (by DPPH, ABTS, FRAP and b-carotene bleaching test) and their acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) inhibitory activity, useful for prevention and …
Phytochemical study of Cistus libanotis L.
2015
n continuation of our ongoing study on Mediterranean Flora, we focused the attention on Cistus genus. These plants possess interesting secondary metabolites and are used in many fields, principally in perfumery and more recently as raw material for food supplements (botanicals). n this article, we report the phytochemical analysis of Cistus libanotis L. from Tunisia. Among the diterpenes, labdane compounds resulted absent, in favour of two clerodanes, one of that never reported in Cistus sp. The main representative compounds were found to be several flavonoids with various grades of O-methylation. Other interesting components were two cinnamic esters of borneol, reported here for the first …
Flow injection biamperometric determination of metronidazole with on-line photodegradation
1999
Abstract The determination of metronidazole is performed in a flow injection assembly, provided with a 40 W low pressure mercury lamp and a home-made biamperometric flow-cell furnished with two platinum electrodes polarized at 100 mV. The sample solution after being irradiated is inserted into a pure water stream. It then merges with an in situ mixed solution containing potassium iodide in sulphuric acid. The calibration graph was linear over the range 0.2–8.0 mg l −1 metronidazole; the 3 σ limit of detection was 0.008 mg l −1 ; the relative standard deviation was 0.6% (for 4 mg l −1 n = 13) and the sample throughput 50 h −1 . The influence of foreign compounds is slight and the method is …
The coffee-machine bacteriome: biodiversity and colonisation of the wasted coffee tray leach
2015
AbstractMicrobial communities are ubiquitous in both natural and artificial environments. However, microbial diversity is usually reduced under strong selection pressures, such as those present in habitats rich in recalcitrant or toxic compounds displaying antimicrobial properties. Caffeine is a natural alkaloid present in coffee, tea and soft drinks with well-known antibacterial properties. Here we present the first systematic analysis of coffee machine-associated bacteria. We sampled the coffee waste reservoir of ten different Nespresso machines and conducted a dynamic monitoring of the colonization process in a new machine. Our results reveal the existence of a varied bacterial community…
Oribatid mites (Acari: Oribatida) in boreal forest floor and decaying wood
2008
Summary We studied the oribatid mite communities in forest floor and in decaying wood in pine (Pinus sylvestris), spruce (Picea abies) and deciduous (mainly Betula pendula and B. pubescens) forests at different latitudes in Finland. The study sites were either in mature managed forests or in old-growth forests in nature reserves. Altogether 78 sites were sampled in 2004 and 2005, yielding a total of 38,145 oribatid mites belonging to 133 species, of which four were new to Finland. Oribatid mite communities differed in terms of total number and community structure between forest types and latitudes within the boreal forest zone. The most abundant and diverse communities were in spruce forest…
