Ferromagnetic Coupling through Spin Polarization in a Dinuclear Copper(II) Metallacyclophane.

2001

Effects of high-pressure on the structural, vibrational, and electronic properties of monazite-type PbCrO4

2012

We have performed an experimental study of the crystal structure, lattice dynamics, and optical properties of PbCrO 4 (the mineral crocoite) at ambient and high pressures. In particular, the crystal structure, Raman-active phonons, and electronic band gap have been accurately determined. X-ray-diffraction, Raman, and optical absorption experiments have allowed us also to completely characterize two pressure-induced structural phase transitions. The first transition is from a monoclinic structure to another monoclinic structure. It maintains the symmetry of the crystal but has important consequences in the physical properties; among others, a band-gap collapse is induced. The second one invo…

Alkane oxidation by a carboxylate-bridged dimanganese(III) complex

2001

[EN] A new manganese( III) oxamato dimer possesing an unprecedented Mn-2(mu -O2CR)(mu -OH2. . .O2CR) core has been synthesised, structurally and magnetically characterised, and used as a catalyst for the oxidation of alkanes to alcohols and ketones by (BuO2H)-O-t and O-2 in CH2Cl2 at rt.

Polymorphism and “reverse” spin transition in the spin crossover system [Co(4-terpyridone)2](CF3SO3)2·1H2O

2009

[EN] Compound [Co(4-terpyridone)(2)](CF3SO3)(2)center dot 1H(2)O, where 4-terpyridone is 2,6-bis(2-pyridyl)-4(1H)-pyridone, forms two polymorphs. Polymorph 1 displays a continuous spin conversion in the temperature region 300-120 K while polymorph 2 shows, on cooling, the onset of a continuous high-spin (HS) to low-spin (LS) conversion interrupted by an abrupt "reverse'' spin transition in the temperature region 217-203 K. The formed unstable HS intermediate phase (IP) undergoes a strong cooperative "normal'' spin transition characterised by a hysteresis loop 33 K wide. The structural data give support for a crystallographic phase transition, which takes place concomitantly with the "revers…

Entrepreneurs' perceptions of official sporting events' capacity to promote their business in the long term

2021

[EN] Academic literature includes numerous studies on the assessment of the economic impacts of sporting events. Some of these impacts are only temporary and don't produce a lasting effect on the productive fabric, while others lead to long term developments. Even though residents' reactions to the long term impacts of these events have been broadly studied, the views expressed by entrepreneurs located in the area of the event remain to be investigated. This article analyses perceptions of entrepreneurs located near the Sierra Nevada Ski and Mountain Resort in Spain relating to their assessment of the long term effects of hosting the 2017 Snowboard and Freestyle Ski World Championship. This …

Energy and Personality: A Bridge between Physics and Psychology

2021

[EN] The objective of this paper is to present a mathematical formalism that states a bridge between physics and psychology, concretely between analytical dynamics and personality theory, in order to open new insights in this theory. In this formalism, energy plays a central role. First, the short-term personality dynamics can be measured by the General Factor of Personality (GFP) response to an arbitrary stimulus. This GFP dynamical response is modeled by a stimulus¿response model: an integro-differential equation. The bridge between physics and psychology appears when the stimulus¿response model can be formulated as a linear second order differential equation and, subsequently, reformulat…

Thermal-,Pressure-, and Light-Induced Spin Transition in Novel Cyanide-Bridged FeII-AgI Bimetallic Compounds with Three-Dimensional Interpenetrating …

2002

[EN] Low-spin, high-spin and spin-transition behaviours have been observed for the doubly interpenetrating three-dimensional bimetallic compounds {Fe-II(pz)[Ag(CN)(2)](2)}.pz (pz= pyrazine), {Fe-II(4,4'-bipy)(2)[Ag(CN)(2)](2)} (4,4'-bipy-4,4'-bipyridine), and {Fe-II-(bpe)(2)[Ag(CN)(2)](2)} (bpe = bispyridylethylene), respectively. The single crystals of the bpe derivative undergo a spin transition with a large hysteresis loop at about 95 K. After several warming and cooling cycles, the single crystals become a microcrystalline powder with 50% spin transition. Influence of pressure- as well as light-induced excited spin-state trapping (LIESST) on the thermal 50% spin transition of the microc…
