Structural study of α-Bi2O3 under pressure
2013
An experimental and theoretical study of the structural properties of monoclinic bismuth oxide (alpha-(BiO3)-O-2) under high pressures is here reported. Both synthetic and mineral bismite powder samples have been compressed up to 45 GPa and their equations of state have been determined with angle-dispersive x-ray diffraction measurements. Experimental results have been also compared with theoretical calculations which suggest the possibility of several phase transitions below 10 GPa. However, experiments reveal only a pressure-induced amorphization between 15 and 25 GPa, depending on sample quality and deviatoric stresses. The amorphous phase has been followed up to 45 GPa and its nature di…
New polymorph of InVO4: A high-pressure structure with six-coordinated vanadium
2013
A new wolframite-type polymorph of InVO4 is identified under compression near 7 GPa by in situ high-pressure (HP) X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopic investigations on the stable orthorhombic InVO4. The structural transition is accompanied by a large volume collapse (Delta V/V = -14%) and a drastic increase in bulk modulus (from 69 to 168 GPa). Both techniques also show the existence of a third phase coexisting with the low- and high-pressure phases in a limited pressure range close to the transition pressure. XRD studies revealed a highly anisotropic compression in orthorhombic InVO4. In addition, the compressibility becomes nonlinear in the HP polymorph. The volume collapse in…
High-pressure structural, elastic, and thermodynamic properties of zircon-type HoPO4 and TmPO4
2017
[EN] Zircon-type holmium phosphate (HoPO4) and thulium phosphate (TmPO4) have been studied by single-crystal x-ray diffraction and ab initio calculations. We report on the influence of pressure on the crystal structure, and on the elastic and thermodynamic properties. The equation of state for both compounds is accurately determined. We have also obtained information on the polyhedral compressibility which is used to explain the anisotropic axial compressibility and the bulk compressibility. Both compounds are ductile and more resistive to volume compression than to shear deformation at all pressures. Furthermore, the elastic anisotropy is enhanced upon compression. Finally, the calculation…
Structural Characterization of Aurophilic Gold(I) Iodide under High Pressure
2019
[EN] The effects of pressure on the crystal structure of aurophilic tetragonal gold iodide have been studied by means of powder X-ray diffraction up to 13.5 GPa. We found evidence of the onset of a phase transition at 1.5 GPa that is more significant from 3.8 GPa. The low- and high-pressure phases coexist up to 10.7 GPa. Beyond 10.7 GPa, an irreversible process of amorphization takes place. We determined the axial and bulk compressibility of the ambient-pressure tetragonal phase of gold iodide up to 3.3 GPa. This is extremely compressible with a bulk modulus of 18.1(8) GPa, being as soft as a rare gas, molecular solids, or organometallic compounds. Moreover, its response to pressure is anis…
Digital Transformation: An Overview of the Current State of the Art of Research
2021
[EN] The increasing digitalization of economies has highlighted the importance of digital transformation and how it can help businesses stay competitive in the market. However, disruptive changes not only occur at the company level; they also have environmental, societal, and institutional implications. This is the reason why during the past two decades the research on digital transformation has received growing attention, with a wide range of topics investigated in the literature. The following aims to provide insight regarding the current state of the literature on digital transformation (DT) by conducting a systematic literature review. An analysis of co-occurrence using the software VOS…
Nursing: more used medicines in the emergency rooms of hospitals
2007
2018
[EN] There is a growing consensus in the mental health sciences (psychology, psychiatry) that there is no clear dividing line between "normal" personality and "abnormal" personality or mental disorders. In fact, basic personality traits predispose or overlap with clinical mental disorders. For example, Neuroticism, as a factor that predisposes to neurosis, predisposes to suffer from anxiety, depression and obsessive disorders. This question serves to present a summary of the work of our group (Antonio Caselles, Joan C. Micó and Salvador Amigó) and to point out future research. Thus, after reviewing our studies on the dynamics of the General Personality Factor (FGP) and its biological substr…
A reduction theorem for a conjecture on products of two π -decomposable groups
2013
[EN] For a set of primes pi, a group X is said to be pi-decomposable if X = X-pi x X-pi' is the direct product of a pi-subgroup X-pi and a pi'-subgroup X-pi', where pi' is the complementary of pi in the set of all prime numbers. The main result of this paper is a reduction theorem for the following conjecture: "Let pi be a set of odd primes. If the finite group G = AB is a product of two pi-decomposable subgroups A = A(pi) x A(pi') and B = B-pi x B-pi', then A(pi)B(pi) = B(pi)A(pi) and this is a Hall pi-subgroup of G." We establish that a minimal counterexample to this conjecture is an almost simple group. The conjecture is then achieved in a forthcoming paper. (C) 2013 Elsevier Inc. All ri…
A note on a result of Guo and Isaacs about p-supersolubility of finite groups
2016
In this note, global information about a finite group is obtained by assuming that certain subgroups of some given order are S-semipermutable. Recall that a subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be S-semipermutable if H permutes with all Sylow subgroups of G of order coprime to . We prove that for a fixed prime p, a given Sylow p-subgroup P of a finite group G, and a power d of p dividing such that , if is S-semipermutable in for all normal subgroups H of P with , then either G is p-supersoluble or else . This extends the main result of Guo and Isaacs in (Arch. Math. 105:215-222 2015). We derive some theorems that extend some known results concerning S-semipermutable subgroups.
On the supersoluble hypercentre of a finite group
2016
[EN] We give some sufficient conditions for a normal p-subgroup P of a finite group G to have every G-chief factor below it cyclic. The S-permutability of some p-subgroups of O^p(G)plays an important role. Some known results can be reproved and some others appear as corollaries of our main theorems.
