The infection caused by Trichomonas vaginalis is the most common but overlooked non-viral sexually transmitted disease worldwide. Treatment relies on one class of drugs, the 5-nitroimidazoles, but resistance is widespread. New drugs are urgently needed. We reported the effect of crude and purified saponin fractions of Manilkara rufula against Trichomonas vaginalis. The compound responsible for antitrichomonal activity was isolated and identified as an uncommon bidesmosic saponin, Mi-saponin C. International audience; Candida albicans is part of the human gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota. To better understand how C. albicans efficiently establishes GI colonisation, we competitively challenged growth of 572 signature-tagged strains (~10% genome coverage), each conditionally overexpressing a single gene, in the murine gut. We identified CRZ2, a transcription factor whose overexpression and deletion respectively increased and decreased early GI colonisation. La satisfacció sexual s?ha convertit en una qüestió important dintre dels estudis sobre sexualitats, dels que sistemàticament les persones grans queden excloses al reduir la seua sexualitat a aspectes relacionats amb la mala salut. En aquest estudi s?analitza la satisfacció sexual amb la parella d?aquest grup de població a través de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud Sexual, prenent com a base el model biopsicosocial de la sexualitat (DeLamater, 2002) i considerant el gènere i diferents grups d?edat. Els resultats indiquen el caràcter multifactorial de la satisfacció sexual, prioritzant elements de natura relacional, social i cultural per sobre de l?estat de salut.
