Both contextual regularity and selective attention affect the reduction of precision‐weighted prediction errors but in distinct manners

Predictive coding model of perception postulates that the primary objective of the brain is to infer the causes of sensory inputs by reducing prediction errors (i.e., the discrepancy between expected and actual information). Moreover, prediction errors are weighted by their precision (i.e., inverse variance), which quantifies the degree of certainty about the variables. There is accumulating evidence that the reduction of precision‐weighted prediction errors can be affected by contextual regularity (as an external factor) and selective attention (as an internal factor). OBJECTIVES This study determined: 1) the interobserver agreement; 2) valvular flow variation; and 3) which variables independently predicted the variation of valvular flow quantification from 4-dimensional (4D) flow cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) with automated retrospective valve tracking at multiple sites. BACKGROUND Automated retrospective valve tracking in 4D flow CMR allows consistent assessment of valvular flow through all intracardiac valves. Self-depiction of feminine authors conveys something original in a field where it usually is a way to express a private fantasy. From feminist comics of the 70s to the most recent porn comics, authors’ bodies are not sex objects anymore, they are the subject of a narration. Self-depiction is a new material for porn-comics and gives sincerity to the stories, it may be a way to express political views. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā attēlu nozīmi iespējams interpretēt noteiktā kontekstā. Pētījums reaģē uz galējās interpretācijas problemātiku un ierosina skatīt Čārlza Pīrsa zīmju teoriju kā instrumentu, kas ļauj analizēt nozīmes radīšanas un interpretācijas procesualitāti noteiktas situācijas un kultūras kontekstā. Tiek pētīti četri atšķirīgi attēlu gadījumi (Hilma af Klinta, Sajs Tvomblijs, Gerhards Rihters un Vija Celmiņa), piemērojot mainīgos konteksta lielumus un Pīrsa zīmju klasifikācijas. The Physics of Complex Systems has recently taken a more and more important role in the description of natural systems because of the interactions, both deterministic and noisy, between such systems and the environment. In particular the noise plays a relevant role in biological systems, whose dynamics is strongly influenced by environmental variables subject to random fluctuations. In this work a stochastic model is exploited to reproduce the growth of bacteria in food of animal origin. Specifically the dynamics of a bacterial species, Listeria monocytogenes, is analyzed in the presence of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) during the period of the fermentation of meat products.
