Students' Positive Expectations and Concerns Prior to the School Transition to Lower Secondary School

This mixed-method study examines students' expectations and concerns before transitioning from primary to lower secondary school and the role of students' school-related wellbeing and self-esteem in their concerns. Students reported their beliefs about the forthcoming school transition and filled in a questionnaire assessing school burnout and self-esteem. The results showed that the students had positive expectations comprising comfort, friendships, learning, school environment, increased freedom and teacher -student relations. Insights into Finnish first-year pre-service teachers’ twenty-first century skills

This study focuses on Finnish pre-service teachers’ perceptions of their twenty-first century skills, especially their learning strategies, collaboration and teamwork, as well as knowledge and attitudes related to ICT in education. The target group consist of 263 first-year pre-service teachers from three universities. The results outline how pre-service teachers perceive their twenty-first century skills, the relationships between different areas of these skills, and the differences among pre-service teachers in terms of perceived skills. Comparison between unrestricted dynamic shakedown design and a new probabilistic approach for structures under seismic loadings

The paper concerns a study related to the comparison between two different approaches utilized for the formulation of an optimal shakedown design problem for elastic plastic frame structures subjected to a combination of fixed and seismic loading. The first formulation utilizes the unrestricted dynamic shakedown theory, while the second one is based on a new probabilistic approach. The comparison is effected in terms of mathematical formulations, in terms of adopted loading models and in terms of numerical results. The performed applications are related to plane steel frames.

Artykuł naświetla kwestię gradacji ekologiczności gospodarstwa rolnego, która obejmuje podstawowe kryteria zrównoważonych modeli rozwoju rolnictwa. Za pomocą programowania matematycznego udowodniono skuteczność zwiększenia poziomu ekologizacji. Przedstawiono zautomatyzowany model rozwoju gospodarstwa rolnego oraz sposoby zwiększenia bezpieczeństwa produkcji. Model jest uniwersalny i może być stosowany w przedsię-biorstwach lasostepu Ukrainy Lewobrzeżnej.
