The so-called ‘aggrieved inmates’ constitute a very specifi c group of prisoners, who have been downgraded in prison hierarchy. The paper contains the up-to-date research results within a range of relations between downgraded individuals and other inmates. The paper also includes the description of personality traits of aggrieved inmates and those which are assigned to this prison cathegory The purpose of the research is to depict the multidimensional phenomenon of prison degradation which leads to humiliation of low-status individuals’ identity.

Este trabajo constituye una primera aproximación a la ciencia en la ciencia ficción desde el punto de vista del alumnado y qué posibilidades ofrece como recurso didáctico. Sondeamos, por tanto, si los alumnos conocen y han visto cine de ciencia ficción, así como si este factor influye en sus actitudes hacia la ciencia y los científicos y su opinión sobre las consecuencias de los avances científicos en el futuro. Asimismo, nos planteamos si los estudiantes perciben las visiones deformadas de la ciencia y los científicos que transmite el cine de ciencia ficción. Pretendemos, asimismo, estudiar si se utiliza la ciencia ficción como recurso didáctico.

Resumen El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar posibles diferencias en satisfacción con la vida, ánimo depresivo, autoconcepto y comunicación familiar entre adolescentes no implicados en violencia de pareja, agresores, víctimas, implicados en el rol de agresor-víctima de forma ocasional e implicados en este rol frecuentemente. Unpacking the link between family socioeconomic status and civic engagement during the transition to adulthood: Do work values play a role?

We investigated whether the link between family-of-origin socioeconomic status (SES) and civic engagement in young adulthood is mediated by youth’s work values, i.e., the desired characteristics of their current or future jobs. We used data from a Finnish study: 2004 (age 16–18, NT1 = 1,301); 2011 (age 23–25, N T2 = 1,096); and 2014 (age 25–27, NT3 = 1,138). A lower family SES in 2004 was negatively related to youth’s civic engagement in 2014. Lower family SES predicted the importance that youth attached to extrinsic job rewards (e.g., good pay) in 2011, but not the importance of intrinsic job rewards (e.g., learning opportunities). Abstract Aim This retrospective study aimed to characterize the baseline status of patients following periodontal maintenance, analysing the association between the long‐term outcome of these patients, smoking, bruxism, and the main clinical and radiographic variables. Material and methods A sample of 174 patients with moderate to severe periodontitis was refined into homogeneous subsamples according to smoking and bruxism and the rate of tooth loss due to periodontal disease (TLPD): 0, 1–2, and >2 teeth.
