Objective: To know the reasons to participate or not in a colorectal cancer (CCR) screening programme and to analyze the differences by sex, age and social class. Methods: Cross-sectional study by a telephone survey directed to a sample of men and women aged between 50-74 year old, participants (n = 383) and non participants (n = 383) in the CCR screening programme of Valencian Community. Descriptive analysis and logistic regression models estimating the Odds Ratio (p < 0.05). Abstract Objective: To examine the factors that influence informed participation in a Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme (CRCSP) from a gender perspective. Methods: Cross-sectional telephone survey directed to men and women invited to participate (2009-2010) in the Valencian Community CRCSP (Spain). Sample size: 785 subjects. Outcome variables: participation in CRCSP and being informed. Bivariate and multivariate analysis using logistic regression models (95% confidence interval [95%CI], p <0.05). Polynomial Identities of Algebras of Small Dimension

It is well known that given an associative algebra or a Lie algebra A, its codimension sequence c n (A) is either polynomially bounded or grows at least as fast as 2 n . In [2] we proved that for a finite dimensional (in general nonassociative) algebra A, dim A = d, the sequence c n (A) is also polynomially bounded or c n (A) ≥ a n asymptotically, for some real number a > 1 which might be less than 2. Nevertheless, for d = 2, we may take a = 2. Here we prove that for d = 3 the same conclusion holds. We also construct a five-dimensional algebra A with c n (A) < 2 n .

Ethnic minority media embody much of the multiculturalist, multilingual and transnational changes in the media landscape and in the wider societal frame as well. Often minority media aim at providing relevant information, but also alternative publicity and empowering experiences in regard to their own identity, language and culture. Through an analysis of journalists' interviews and ethnographic data, this article examines how these tendencies, possibilities and limitations are played out in the indigenous Sami media. Goal-setting strategy and psychological differences in marathon runners compared by gender

Prior to a marathon race, we conducted a cross sectional study with 122 male and 18 female recreational runners at the Expo. Demographic information, running experience, competition level, training details, goal and finishing times, and PODIUM questionnaire on psychological state variables were collected. Motivation, training volume, experience, and relative performance were comparable between male and female marathon runners. However, men were more ambitious and perceived higher self-confidence and fitness, although overestimated their goals ( M dif = -10.4, SD = 16.7] minutes, p < .001).
