Extension of the line element-less method to dynamic problems

The line element-less method is an efficient approach for the approximate solution of the Laplace or biharmonic equation on a general bidimensional domain. Introducing generalized harmonic polynomials as approximation functions, we extend the line element-less method to the inhomogeneous Helmholtz equation and to the eigenvalue problem for the Helmholtz equation. The obtained approximate solutions are critically discussed and advantages as well as limitations of the approach are pointed out.

HIT–harjoittelua (korkeatehoista intervalliharjoittelua) on käytetty kilpaurheilussa jo pitkään suorituskyvyn ja erityisesti maksimaalisen hapenottokyvyn parantamiseksi. Nykyään harjoitusmenetelmää käyttävät myös tavalliset kuntoilijat, sillä HIT-harjoitukset ovat tehokkaita ja nopeita toteuttaa. HIT-harjoittelua on viime aikoina alettu käyttää myös voimaharjoittelussa kehonpainoa tai erilaisia painoja hyödyntäen. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää kahden erilaisen HIT-kuormitusmallin (HIT 1: 4*4 min 85%/2 min ja HIT 2: 10*1 min 95%/1½min) vaikutuksia hapenottokykyyn, voimaan ja kehon koostumukseen. Colorectal cancer (CRC) and cachexia are associated with the gut microbiota and microbial surface molecules. We characterized the CRC-associated microbiota and investigated whether cachexia affects the microbiota composition. Further, we examined the possible relationship between the microbial surface molecule flagellin and CRC. CRC cells (C26) were inoculated into mice. Activin receptor (ACVR) ligands were blocked, either before tumor formation or before and after, to increase muscle mass and prevent muscle loss. Idiosyncratic description of anger states in skilled Spanish karate athletes: an application of the IZOF model

This study examined content and intensity of anger prior to, during, and after best ever and worst ever performances in 43 high-level Spanish karate athletes using individualized anger profiling. Optimal and dysfunctional anger intensities were assessed using a modified version of Borg’s Category Ratio (CR-10) scale. Anger profiling was supplemented with positive and negative emotion profiling. As expected, content of anger descriptors was highly idiosyncratic. Bismuth trihalide complexes with nitrogen and phosphorus chelating ligands

Abstract Bismuth(III) halides react with 1,10-phenanthroline, 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde-2-pyridylhydrazone and diphenylphosphynoethane in methanol. A stoichiometry differing from 1:1 is found only for BiCl 3 (Phen) 1.33 and BiCl 3 (Dpe) 1.5 . Characterization of these compounds, which are not very soluble in common solvents, follows from analytical, mass and IR spectral data. In the low frequency region, the IR spectra proved to be useful to ascertain the presence of bridging halogens.
