Erään ensikodin päiväryhmätoiminta pienen lapsen kehityksen erityisenä tukena
2017
Aineisto analysoitiin…
Dysregulated Motherhood: Exploring the Risk Features in a Mother’s Caregiving Representations
2019
In the case of a mother with dysregulating attachment experiences and current enrolment in a parent-infant psychotherapy process, we explored which insecure, hostile/helpless, and prementalizing risk features were similar in her attachment and caregiving representations; which risk features were specific to her caregiving representations; and how these theory-defined features overlapped in detecting caregiving risks. Risk features in the attachment representations were assessed from the adult attachment interview and risk features in the caregiving representations from written psychotherapy notes. We found similar insecure (preoccupied and disorganized), prementalizing and hostile/helpless …
Music therapy for improving premature infants' well-being and communication skills and enhancing mother-infant bonding : a case study
2016
Over the last few decades, mother-child attachment has received increasing attention in early intervention with prematurely born infants. In these early years, physical interactions constitute a crucial arena for early learning and brain development, and together with the strong emotional bonding between the mother and her infant, they build the foundation for later interaction relationships. Premature birth is a challenging experience for the mother-infant relationship and is always a risk factor in early interaction issues (long hospital stay, lack of physical closeness etc.). This case study aims to examine how music therapy can promote premature infant's well-being and encourage the cre…
Multimodal Aposematic Defenses Through the Predation Sequence
2021
Aposematic organisms warn predators of their unprofitability using a combination of defenses, including visual warning signals, startling sounds, noxious odors, or aversive tastes. Using multiple lines of defense can help prey avoid predators by stimulating multiple senses and/or by acting at different stages of predation. We tested the efficacy of three lines of defense (color, smell, taste) during the predation sequence of aposematic wood tiger moths (Arctia plantaginis) using blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) predators. Moths with two hindwing phenotypes (genotypes: WW/Wy = white, yy = yellow) were manipulated to have defense fluid with aversive smell (methoxypyrazines), body tissues with a…
Transparency reduces predator detection in mimetic clearwing butterflies
2019
International audience; Predation is an important selective pressure and some prey have evolved conspicuous warning signals that advertise unpalatability (i.e. aposematism) as an antipredator defence. Conspicuous colour patterns have been shown effective as warning signals, by promoting predator learning and memory. Unexpectedly, some butterfly species from the unpalatable tribe Ithomiini possess transparent wings, a feature rare on land but common in water, known to reduce predator detection. We tested if transparency of butterfly wings was associated with decreased detectability by predators, by comparing four butterfly species exhibiting different degrees of transparency, ranging from ful…

Entisten vankien kokemuksia luottamuksen rakentumisesta
2013
Tutkimuksen päätehtävänä on kuvailla entisten vankien, nykyisten vertaistukihenkilöi-den vankilakokemuksia ja rikoksettomaan elämään siirtymistä luottamussuhteiden nä-kökulmasta. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan myös haastateltujen koulukokemuksia koulu-kiinnittymisteorian (engagement theory) viitekehyksestä. Tavoitteena on tuoda esiin luottamuksen moniulotteista rakentumista entisten vankien eli sellaisten kohdalla, joihin ja joiden on vaikea luottaa tarkastellen luottamuksen vastavuoroisuutta ja korostaen heihin luottamisen sijaan heidän oman luottamisensa rakentumista. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan luottamuksen roolia yhteiskuntapoliittisesti ja erityispeda-gogisesti entisten vankien, vankilaol…
