WDR45 Gene and Its Role in Pediatric Epilepsies

AbstractWD repeat domain 45 (WDR45) gene has been increasingly found in patients with developmental delay (DD) and epilepsy. Previously, WDR45 de novo mutations were reported in sporadic adult and pediatric patients presenting iron accumulation, while heterozygous mutations were associated with β-propeller protein-associated neurodegeneration (BPAN), a subtype of neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation disorders, characterized by extrapyramidal movement disorders and abnormal accumulation of iron in the basal ganglia. The essential oils of the flowers of Magydaris tomentosa (Desf.) DC. (Apiaceae) collected in Sicily (MSi) and Algeria (MAl), respectively, were obtained by hydrodistillation, and their compositions were analysed. The analyses allowed the identification and quantification of 23 components in MSi and 60 compounds in MAl, respectively, showing a very different profile in the composition of the two populations. Search for scalar leptoquarks in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV with the ATLAS experiment

An inclusive search for a new-physics signature of lepton-jet resonances has been performed by the ATLAS experiment. Scalar leptoquarks, pair-produced in pp collisions at s √s = 13 TeV at the large hadron collider, have been considered. An integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb-1, corresponding to the full 2015 dataset was used. First (second) generation leptoquarks were sought in events with two electrons (muons) and two or more jets. The observed event yield in each channel is consistent with Standard Model background expectations. Beam-induced and cosmic-ray backgrounds observed in the ATLAS detector during the LHC 2012 proton-proton running period

This paper discusses various observations on beam-induced and cosmic-ray backgrounds in the ATLAS detector during the LHC 2012 proton-proton run. Building on published results based on 2011 data, the correlations between background and residual pressure of the beam vacuum are revisited. Ghost charge evolution over 2012 and its role for backgrounds are evaluated. New methods to monitor ghost charge with beam-gas rates are presented and observations of LHC abort gap population by ghost charge are discussed in detail. Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Naratīva struktūra un kino stils Giljermo del Toro filmās “Pāna labirints”, “Purpura smaile” un “Ūdens forma””. Pētījuma mērķis ir saprast naratīvo struktūru un režisoriskās iezīmes, jeb stila iezīmes Giljermo del Toro filmās, šim mērķim teoritiskāja daļa tiek apskatītas kino valodas, semiotikas un naratīva teoriju tēmas. Lietojot semiotisko analīzi, naratīvo analīzi, kā arī izmantojot kinozinātnieka Jurija Civjana (Yuri Tsivian) rīku “Cinemetrics” tiks analizētas augstākminētās kinofilmas. Analizējot pētījumā rezultātus secināt par režisora kino stilu un filmu naratīvo analīzi.
