Objectives. Subjective health complaints (e.g. headache and feeling low) are common among adolescents. The objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with the subjective health of adolescents from a population-based point of view. Material and methods. A sample of 712 students was recruited within the web-based Project ASSO (Adolescents and Surveillance System for the Obesity prevention), funded by the Italian Ministry of Health and piloted in Palermo. Abstract Cancer-initiating cells (CICs) that are responsible for tumor initiation, propagation, and resistance to standard therapies have been isolated from human solid tumors, including colorectal cancer (CRC). The aim of this study was to obtain an immunological profile of CRC-derived CICs and to identify CIC-associated target molecules for T cell immunotherapy. We have isolated cells with CIC properties along with their putative non-CIC autologous counterparts from human primary CRC tissues. Legacy system evolution - A comparative study of modernisation and replacement initiation factors

Decisions regarding information system evolution strategy become topical as the organisation’s information systems age and start to approach the end of their life cycle. An interview study was conducted in order to compare factors influencing modernisation and replacement initiation. System age, obsolete technology and high operation or maintenance costs were identified as triggers for both modernisation and replacement projects. The results show that the most prevalent individual reason for modernisation initiative is business development. Although the two compared novels are of different historical and cultural backgrounds, she shows things that they have in common. Temat ten jest ważnym uzupełnieniem ustaleń dotyczących polskiej antroponimii, gdyż, jak twierdzą historycy, nazwy te, mające charakter przezwiskowy (np. Płaczybabka, Marionek, Fiolla, Goniwiecha), mogły się stawać w późniejszym okresie oficjalnymi nazwiskami. Problematyka niniejszego studium oscyluje wokół niezwykle ważnego gestu sakramentalnego jakim jest nałożenie rąk, który choć wspólny całemu chrześcijaństwu, posiada różną formę i znaczenie w poszczególnych tradycjach liturgicznych. Kolejne części artykułu w syntetyczny sposób prezentują najpierw terminologię związana z tym gestem, a następnie praktykę i po części też teologię nałożenia rąk w celebracji misteriów (= sakramentów) Kościołów syryjskich i bizantyjskich. Inicjacje w życiu rodzinnym - perspektywa profilaktyki pozytywnej

Celem artykułu jest poznanie znaczenia inicjacji dla zapobiegania zachowaniom ryzykownych dzieci i młodzieży. Na potrzeby artykułu wykonano badania jakościowe prosząc studentów pedagogiki o opinie o własnych doświadczeniach w zakresie inicjacji wychowawczych. Ustalono, że inicjacje wychowawcze mają istotne znaczenie dla rozwoju psychospołecznego w okresie nastoletnim. Sposób ich doświadczania oraz ich charakter może być sytuacją, która sprzyja nabywaniu doświadczenia, wzmacniającego czynniki chroniące przed zachowaniami ryzykownymi.
