Fast Secure Routing for Highly Mobile Large-Scale Ad-Hoc Vehicular Networks

In highly mobile large-scale vehicular ad-hoc networks, routing protocols must be fast and efficient in terms of low routing discovery delay and communication overhead to support the applications such as car talk. Such requirement becomes more difficult to achieve when inducing security enhancement to tackle the authentication of routing messages. In this paper, we propose a lightweight (fast) secure routing protocol, Secure Proactive Tree-based Routing (SPTR) to hit these two points. SPTR makes use of the characteristics of VANET networks, that is, the traffic originates from or terminates at the gateway or road side unit. Multipath extensions to the DYMO routing protocol

Multipath routing is a technique that can improve performance, specially in mobile ad hoc networks. Due to traffic dispersion it can perform load balancing; minimize the energy consumed by nodes or prevent traffic analysis. In this work we focus on enhancing the DYMO protocol to support multipath routing. We study the impact of traffic dispersion on both UDP and TCP traffic when varying a set of parameters.
Towards a rapidly rotating liquid sodium dynamo experiment

The main characteristics of the Earth's dynamo are reviewed. The combined actions of Coriolisand Lorentz forces lead to the so--called ``magnetostrophic'' regime. We derive an estimate of the power needed to sustain the magnetic field in this regime. We show that an experimentwith liquid sodium can be designed to operate in the magnetostrophic regime. Such an experiment would bring most valuable informations on the mechanisms of planetary dynamos. Soliciting travel as much in the exploration of a country as in philosophy and knowledge, Germaine de Staël's De l'Allemagne is both a travel narrative and a metaphysical breviary. In a tone close to autobiography, the author observes an inner region rather than a foreign country.

This paper aims to show that the reception of British coloured illustrated books in the early twentieth-century reflects the artistic and aesthetic repositioning induced by the development of photomechanical process. Photomechanical reproduction freed the graphic line as well as colour. Reviews published at the turn of the century—as exemplified by The Studio—reveal a tension between opacity and transparency, materiality and lightness, chromophilia and chromophobia. These oppositions apply to the art of the book—as in the books illustrated by Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac—as well as to interior decoration. Objetivo Caracterizar la exposición a la contaminación del aire interior por uso de combustibles sólidos en hogares en situación de pobreza extrema en Colombia. Métodos A partir de la información gubernamental oficial de hogares en situación de pobreza extrema (encuesta Red Unidos de septiembre 2012, n=1,3 millones de hogares y >5 millones de individuos) se estructuraron dos modelos de regresión logística: (i) Factores asociados al uso de combustibles sólidos para cocinar a nivel hogar, (ii) Asociación entre el uso de combustibles sólidos en el hogar y prevalencia de limitaciones de la salud a nivel individuo. An implicit mesh discontinuous Galerkin formulation for higher-order plate theories

In this work, a discontinuous Galerkin formulation for higher-order plate theories is presented. The starting point of the formulation is the strong form of the governing equations, which are derived in the context of the Generalized Unified Formulation and the Equivalent Single Layer approach from the Principle of Virtual Displacements. To express the problem within the discontinuous Galerkin framework, an auxiliary flux variable is introduced and the governing equations are rewritten as a system of first-order partial differential equations, which are weakly stated over each mesh element. Labākam priekšstatam autore detāli apraksta to, kā apgaismojums un krāsa var izmainīt telpu un ietekmēt cilvēka psiholoģisko stāvokli un noskaņojumu, kā arī, kā noteiktas krasas apgaismojums var izmainīt ēdiena krāsu, tādējādi ietekmējot mūsu ēstgribu. Empiriskā daļā autore analizē interjerus kafejnīcās unrestorānos, kas atrodas Rīgas pilsētā. Interjeri tiek apskatīti no apgaismojuma un krāsu gammas skatpunkta.
