"IL RUOLO DELLE BANCHE LOCALI NEI PROCESSI DI INTERNAZIONALIZZAZIONE DELLE PMI MARCHIGIANE"
2008
2013
This paper analyses the drivers of the credit risk transfer market in the credit risk value chain. The central line of my research is to explain why the credit derivatives market is a case of credit risk value chain disintegration. I examine the determinants that explain the use of credit derivatives by banks in the lending business. Transaction cost economics represents the starting point of my research. Competitive advantages of banking firms, standardization of information and financial instruments, financial regulation and shareholder value view help us understand the creation of credit risk transfer markets.
Innovazione finanziaria e instabilità: il trasferimento del rischio di credito
2011
This paper aims to point out the role of credit risk transfer market in the financial system. The advent of a credit risk market has profoundly altered the role of banking firms into one of asset originator and asset distributor rather than the asset holder. The traditional economics of banking has changed in an important way and the new business model has evolved as a result of financial innovation. The main results of the paper are that the lending process disintegration and the development of the credit risk transfer market represent a key element in the recent financial risis. Incentive structures faced by various agents in the financial intermediation chain also became dysfunctional. B…
Direct observation of a borane–silane complex involved in frustrated Lewis-pair-mediated hydrosilylations
2014
Perfluorarylborane Lewis acids catalyse the addition of silicon–hydrogen bonds across C=C, C=N and C=O double bonds. This ‘metal-free’ hydrosilylation has been proposed to occur via borane activation of the silane Si–H bond, rather than through classical Lewis acid/base adducts with the substrate. However, the key borane/silane adduct had not been observed experimentally. Here it is shown that the strongly Lewis acidic, antiaromatic 1,2,3-tris(pentafluorophenyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrafluoro-1-boraindene forms an observable, isolable adduct with triethylsilane. The equilibrium for adduct formation was studied quantitatively through variable-temperature NMR spectroscopic investigations. The interacti…
More Relevant Today Than Ever: Past, Present and Future of Media Performance Research
2020
Media performance is constitutive for functioning democracies. But what is the situation regarding media performance in the age of digitalisation? And how can media performance continue to be assured under the current difficult economic conditions for the news industry? In this essay, we give a short overview of how media performance research has developed from the introduction of private broadcasting to the spread of the Internet and social media. In the course of this development, the initial focus of media performance research on media content has broadened to include media quality from the user perspective. We show how the contributions to this thematic issue relate with existing lines …
The occurrence of Echinorhynchus salmonis Müller, 1784 in benthic amphipods in the Baltic Sea
2015
The acanthocephalan Echinorhynchus salmonis Muller, 1784 is a common parasite of salmonid fish, but it has rarely been reported from an intermediate host. Samples of benthic amphipods, Monoporeia affinis (Lindstrom), were taken from multiple, deep sites (usually below 70 m) in the Gulf of Bothnia over the course of more than a decade and examined for acanthocephalans. Overall, only 0.44% of 23 296 amphipods were infected, all with just a single worm. This prevalence is consistent with several previous reports of acanthocephalans in deep-water, benthic amphipods, but it appears low compared to that often reported for acanthocephalan species infecting littoral amphipods. Parasite occurrence d…

Development of accelerometer-based light to vigorous physical activity in fitness profiles of school-aged children.
2021
This study examined the developmental trajectories of light (LPA) and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) in fitness profiles derived from motor competence, perceived motor competence, health-related fitness, and MVPA behaviour. Locomotor, stability, and object-control skills, muscular and cardiovascular fitness, and physical activity were assessed in 510 (girls 285, boys 225) Finnish school-aged children (Mage = 11.26 ± .33 years) over three years. Physical activity was measured using hip-mounted accelerometers. Fitness profiles were identified using latent profile analysis and the development of physical activity levels across four assessments was analysed with latent growth cur…
