The Social Networks of People with Intellectual Disabilities during the On-Campus Supported Adult Education Programme

This article describes the social networks of four young people with intellectual disabilities in supported adult education, focusing on their inclusion in school and leisure environments. A multiple case study approach with content analysis was used. Data were collected through interviews with young people and their family members, relationship maps, observation journals and notes from Personal Futures Planning meetings. Properties of zeros of solutions to third order nonlinear differential equations

We investigate the behavior of zeros of solutions to the certain type of third order nonlinear differential equations. We show that the behavior of zeros may be rather different and depend on the nature of nonlinearity in the equation. Main results in the paper are illustrated with a number of examples.

Zmiany dotyczą także systemów edukacyjnych, w całości, albo ich poszczególnych elementów. Do kategorii zmian zalicza się reformy, ulepszenia, usprawnienia, a także innowacje. Jedną z istotnych zmian występujących w polskim systemie szkolnym są innowacje pedagogiczne realizowane przez nauczycieli na różnych szczeblach edukacji. W świetle koncepcji poznawczych istotną przyczyną problemów przystosowawczych są dezadaptacyjne zniekształcenia poznawcze, polegające na przypisywaniu swoim doświadczeniom znaczenia w sposób niedokładny lub skrzywiony. Identyfikacja zniekształceń poznawczych u jednostek nieprzystosowanych społecznie umożliwia wychowawcom resocjalizacyjnym rozpoznanie przyczyn ich problemów w procesie przystosowania się do warunków środowiskowych oraz zrozumienie specyfiki ich funkcjonowania społecznego. Jednocześnie pozwala na dostosowanie metod oddziaływania resocjalizującego do popełnianych zniekształceń.

Phosphorus limitation enhances parasite impact: feedback effects at the population level

Background Nutrient deficiency affects the growth and population dynamics of consumers. Endoparasites can be seen as consumers that drain carbon (C) or energy from their host while simultaneously competing for limiting resources such as phosphorus (P). Depending on the relative demands of the host and the parasite for the limiting nutrient, intensified resource competition under nutrient limitation can either reduce the parasite’s effect on the host or further reduce the fitness of the nutrient-limited host.
