La Radioterapia IntraOperatoria (IORT) È una modalità di trattamento in cui una singola dose di radiazioni è impartita direttamente al letto tumorale o al tumore durante l'intervento chirurgico, evitando di colpire i tessuti sani circostanti. Nel caso di irraggiamento alla mammella, una singola frazione di 21 Gy impartita al volume neoplastico durante la procedura chirurgica è equivalente ad una dose totale di 60 Gy che solitamente viene somministrata con la radioterapia frazionata. Tridiagonality, supersymmetry and non self-adjoint Hamiltonians

In this paper we consider some aspects of tridiagonal, non self-adjoint, Hamiltonians and of their supersymmetric counterparts. In particular, the problem of factorization is discussed, and it is shown how the analysis of the eigenstates of these Hamiltonians produce interesting recursion formulas giving rise to biorthogonal families of vectors. Some examples are proposed, and a connection with bi-squeezed states is analyzed.

Biorthogonal vectors, sesquilinear forms, and some physical operators

Continuing the analysis undertaken in previous articles, we discuss some features of non-self-adjoint operators and sesquilinear forms which are defined starting from two biorthogonal families of vectors, like the so-called generalized Riesz systems, enjoying certain properties. In particular we discuss what happens when they forms two $\D$-quasi bases.

Abstract In this work a comparison between the response of alanine and Markus ionization chamber was carried out for measurements of the output factors (OF) of electron beams produced by a linear accelerator used for Intra-Operative Radiation Therapy (IORT). Ionizing radiations (IRs) generated by intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) treatment activates both pro- and antiproliferative signal pathways producing an imbalance in cell fate decision regulated by several genes and factors involved in cell cycle progression, survival and/or cell death, DNA repair and inflammation. Biorthogonal Wavelet Transforms

Wavelets in the polynomial and discrete spline spaces were introduced in Chaps. 8 and 10, respectively. In both cases, the wavelets’ design and implementation of the transforms were associated with perfect reconstruction (PR) filter banks. In this chapter, those associations are discussed in more detail. Biorthogonal wavelet bases generated by PR filter banks are investigated and a few examples of compactly supported biorthogonal wavelets are presented. Quantum mechanical settings inspired by RLC circuits

In some recent papers several authors used electronic circuits to construct loss and gain systems. This is particularly interesting in the context of PT-quantum mechanics, where this kind of effects appears quite naturally. The electronic circuits used so far are simple, but not so much. Surprisingly enough, a rather trivial RLC circuit can be analyzed with the same perspective and it produces a variety of unexpected results, both from a mathematical and on a physical side. A non self-adjoint model on a two dimensional noncommutative space with unbound metric

We demonstrate that a non self-adjoint Hamiltonian of harmonic oscillator type defined on a two-dimensional noncommutative space can be diagonalized exactly by making use of pseudo-bosonic operators. The model admits an antilinear symmetry and is of the type studied in the context of PT-symmetric quantum mechanics. Its eigenvalues are computed to be real for the entire range of the coupling constants and the biorthogonal sets of eigenstates for the Hamiltonian and its adjoint are explicitly constructed.
