Gene expression is a highly regulated process that adapts RNAs and proteins content to the cellular context. Under steady-state conditions, mRNA homeostasis is robustly maintained by tight controls that act on both nuclear transcription and cytoplasmic mRNA stability. In recent years, it has been revealed that several RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) that perform functions in mRNA decay can move to the nucleus and regulate transcription. The RBPs involved in transcription can also travel to the cytoplasm and regulate mRNA degradation and/or translation. Abstract Background While growing in natural environments yeasts can be affected by osmotic stress provoked by high glucose concentrations. The response to this adverse condition requires the HOG pathway and involves transcriptional and posttranscriptional mechanisms initiated by the phosphorylation of this protein, its translocation to the nucleus and activation of transcription factors. One of the genes induced to respond to this injury is YHR087W. It encodes for a protein structurally similar to the N-terminal region of human SBDS whose expression is also induced under other forms of stress and whose deletion determines growth defects at high glucose concentrations. Su autor un conocido jurista, dramaturgo y poeta fue invitado por alguna de las academias a las que perteneció ¿del Conde de la Alcudia? ¿Valenciana? a disertar sobre un tema que supuestamente dominaba como amateur. La exposición superficial, obsoleta, sesgada hacia la metáfora político-moral y basada en la obra de los jesuitas PP. Kircher, Schott y Milliet Dechales nos proporciona un magnífico testimonio del estado de conocimientos y del grado de aspiraciones intelectuales alcanzado por las academias valencianas de notables. La Crónica de la ínclita y coronada ciudad de Valencia y de su reino (1564-1566) constituye un extenso tratado histórico donde Rafael Martí de Viciana (1502-1582) alabó sus excelencias desde los tiempos de la conquista cristiana. Para escribir la Crónica, el autor visitó numerosos lugares para consultar sus archivos y aprovechó sus estancias para practicar un reconocimiento corográfico de las villas y ciudades. Por ello, la Crónica es una mezcla de narración histórica y de descripción corográfica de la ciudad y reino de Valencia.
