Economic Double Censorship
2020
This chapter explores the censorship impact generated by economic logic on the selection and coverage of topics in factual formats and current affairs documentaries on French television. This prelimina- ry research studies more specifically the subcontracting relationships between TV channels and production companies from semi- structured interviews with various categories of professionals (managers of TV press agencies, journalists, directors, Commissioning Editor). The analysis distinguishes two types of censorship ef- fects. The competitive relationships and the business models of the broadcasters condition their positions in the media field and thus exercise a structural censorship on t…
Sport Participation in Early and Middle Adolescence: The Interplay Between Self-Perception and Psychobiosocial Experiences in Predicting Burnout Symp…
2022
Adolescence is characterized by pubertal physical changes, cognitive development, and modified social expectations. Adolescent athletes often enter a more challenging stage of athletic development associated with increased specialization, and become vulnerable to feelings of burnout. It is therefore important to consider intrapersonal psychological factors that can improve sport participation experiences and prevent burnout. Accordingly, the aim of the current study was to examine the interplay between self-perceptions and emotion-related (i.e., psychobiosocial) experiences (e.g., feeling confident, focused, determined, physically charged, and skillful) in predicting burnout symptoms in ado…
Implementation and Outcomes of Lay Health Worker–led Self-management Interventions for Long-Term Conditions and Prevention: A Systematic Review
2019
The aim of this study was to systematically review lay health worker (LHW)–led self-management interventions for adults with long-term conditions to see how the interventions have been implemented and to compose a synthesis of research findings, taking into consideration the intervention components that have been applied. We conducted systematic searches for articles published between January 2010 and December 2015 in five databases: Cochrane, MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Web of Science. Forty original studies were found that met the inclusion criteria: self-management with diabetes (n = 29), cardiovascular diseases (n = 8), and those at risk of cardiovascular diseases (n = 3). These cons…
2016
The technologies of Semantic Web for education have several advantages: accessibility and sustainability of resources, increased clarification and organization. Here we present our project of a semantic platform, the interest of those technologies, and a human / machine communication model that helps learner, teacher and scientist to think better, reflexively, the activities of each of them. The experiments about digital culture pave the way for a quality digital training.
2006
This thesis aims to explore new research opportunities in the food field, proposing to explicitly include psychological factors as potential determinants of food choice process. It notes the consequences of the central role of pleasure in the mechanisms of ingestion, and the specific role of taste: the highly emotional nature of food consumption leads then to retain experiential approach and more specifically sensory marketing as a framework. The issue of research aims to investigate how sensory stimuli and the information associated with the product combine to influence, in a differentiated manner depending on the individual, consumption behavior.Methodologically, the research combines con…
Ancient architecture in Provence between the Iron Age and the Imperial era: the pillars of the Château-Bas site in Vernègues
2013
The site of Château-Bas (Vernègues, Bouches-du-Rhône), famous above all for its Augustan Roman temple, has yielded a set of pillars decorated either with writhing snakes or with straight rods. As yet there are no known parallels to such pillars. The discovery of a fragment of a pillar reused in a 1st c. AD structure demonstrates that these carvings are ancient. The architectural study of the fragments and comparison with other sculptural elements from southern Gaul suggest they date approximately to the turn of the millenium. The originality of these pieces should perhaps be sought in the copying and adaptation of Italic architectural features (Attic base, Tuscan capital) to a particular fo…
« L’homme-à-fourchette ».
2021
“Every meal is a lesson learned”. The Victorian saying warns of the risk of punishment that every guest constantly incurs. These sanctions often relate to the way in which one approaches, one selects, one handles the cutlery on the table. Indeed, the construction of the ideal guest, of his way of being with others and of behaving in relation to food, often and above all involves being a "model user" of table service. We will analyze this aspect from the images and speeches posted on the Windsors' Twitter account, the official websites of the Royal Family and the manners manuals they sponsor. Each of these supports manifests an aspect of the subjectivity of the ideal guest as a model-user of…
