A flow-through cell with integrated hanging mercury drop electrode for voltammetric, inverse voltammetric, adsorptive voltammetric, and chronoamperometric methods is described. HMDE droplets are automatically formed and renewed. By optimizing the flow-channel the sensitivity could be increased approximately five times in comparison with batch methods using the same deposition conditions.

In this study, we analyze first whether there is a common spatial distribution of child maltreatment (CM) and intimate partner violence (IPV), and second, whether the risks of CM and IPV are influenced by the same neighborhood characteristics, and if these risks spatially overlap. To this end we used geocoded data of CM referrals (N = 588) and IPV incidents (N = 1450) in the city of Valencia (Spain). As neighborhood proxies, we used 552 census block groups. The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) is one of the most commonly used scales to assess and quantify these experiences and their impact. The interactions between the plant-derived bioflavonoid, naringenin, and prokaryotic microalgae representatives (cyanobacteria), were investigated with respect to its influence on the growth and metabolic response of these microorganisms. To achieve reliable results, the growth of cyanobacteria was determined based on measurements of chlorophyll content, morphological changes were assessed through microscopic observations, and the chemical response of cells was determined using liquid and gas chromatography (HPLC; GC-FID). Abstract High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) has become one of the most used methods for the analysis of compound mixtures in industry, especially for the quality control of products. Nowadays productivity is the major and dominant upcoming issue, i.e. the goal is to drastically reduce the analysis time and cost per analysis. The solution of the task is higher throughput and faster HPLC methods. Here we describe a new monolithic type of HPLC column, the SilicaROD™ column, which permits the fast HPLC separation of compound mixtures within a few minutes.
