PdII-mediated integration of isocyanides and azide ions might proceed via formal 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between RNC ligands and uncomplexed azide
2016
Reaction between equimolar amounts of trans-[PdCl(PPh3)2(CNR)][BF4] (R = t-Bu 1, Xyl 2) and diisopropylammonium azide 3 gives the tetrazolate trans-[PdCl(PPh3)2(N4t-Bu)] (67%, 4) or trans-[PdCl(PPh3)2(N4Xyl)] (72%, 5) complexes. 4 and 5 were characterized by elemental analyses (C, H, N), HRESI+-MS, 1H and 13C{1H} NMR spectroscopies. In addition, the structure of 4 was elucidated by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction. DFT calculations showed that the mechanism for the formal cycloaddition (CA) of N3− to trans-[PdCl(PH3)2(CNMe)]+ is stepwise. The process is both kinetically and thermodynamically favorable and occurs via the formation of an acyclic NNNCN-intermediate. The second step of the fo…
Carbon monoxide activation by a molecular aluminium imide: C-O bond cleavage and C-C bond formation
2020
Anionic molecular imide complexes of aluminium are accessible via a rational synthetic approach involving the reactions of organo azides with a potassium aluminyl reagent. In the case of K2 [(NON)Al(NDipp)]2 (NON=4,5-bis(2,6-diisopropylanilido)-2,7-di-tert-butyl-9,9-dimethyl-xanthene; Dipp=2,6-diisopropylphenyl) structural characterization by X-ray crystallography reveals a short Al-N distance, which is thought primarily to be due to the low coordinate nature of the nitrogen centre. The Al-N unit is highly polar, and capable of the activation of relatively inert chemical bonds, such as those found in dihydrogen and carbon monoxide. In the case of CO, uptake of two molecules of the substrate…
Effects of larval diet and metamorphosis cue on survival and growth of sea urchin post-larvae ( Paracentrotus lividus ; Lamarck, 1816)
2016
Abstract In this study, we present the results of two experiments; in the first one we evaluated the effects of four larval dietary treatments on the survival and growth of the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus , larvae and post-larvae. In the second experiment we have measured the effects of two different settlement substrates, combined with the presence of conspecifics, on metamorphosis, survival and growth of post-larvae. The microalgae dietary treatments consisted in: Dunaliella tertiolecta (Duna); 50% mixture of Isochrysis galbana and D. tertiolecta (ID); 50% mixture of Chaetoceros gracilis and D. tertiolecta (CD); 33% mixture of I. galbana , C. gracilis and D. tertiolecta (ICD). Althou…
Glutathione deficiency of the Arabidopsis mutant pad2-1 affects oxidative stress-related events, defense gene expression and hypersensitive response
2011
L'article original est publié par The American Society of Plant Biologists; International audience; The Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) phytoalexin-deficient mutant pad2-1 displays enhanced susceptibility to a broad range of pathogens and herbivorous insects that correlates with deficiencies in the production of camalexin, indole glucosinolates, and salicylic acid (SA). The pad2-1 mutation is localized in the GLUTAMATE-CYSTEINE LIGASE (GCL) gene encoding the first enzyme of glutathione biosynthesis. While pad2-1 glutathione deficiency is not caused by a decrease in GCL transcripts, analysis of GCL protein level revealed that pad2-1 plants contained only 48% of the wild-type protein amoun…
Quantitative Imaging of D-2-Hydroxyglutarate in Selected Histological Tissue Areas by a Novel Bioluminescence Technique
2016
Abstract Patients with malignant gliomas have a poor prognosis with average survival of less than one year. Whereas in other tumor entities the characteristics of tumor metabolism are successfully used for therapeutic approaches, such developments are very rare in brain tumors, notably in gliomas. One metabolic feature characteristic of gliomas, in particular diffuse astrocytomas and oligodendroglial tumors, is the variable content of D-2-hydroxyglutarate (D2HG), a metabolite, which was discovered first in this tumor entity. D2HG is generated in large amounts due to various “gain-of–function” mutations in the isocitrate dehydrogenases IDH-1 and IDH-2. Meanwhile, D2HG has been detected in se…
Somatic copy number alterations are associated with EGFR amplification and shortened survival in patients with primary glioblastoma.
2019
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common malignant primary tumor of the central nervous system. With no effective therapy, the prognosis for patients is terrible poor. It is highly heterogeneous and EGFR amplification is its most frequent molecular alteration. In this light, we aimed to examine the genetic heterogeneity of GBM and to correlate it with the clinical characteristics of the patients. For that purpose, we analyzed the status of EGFR and the somatic copy number alterations (CNAs) of a set of tumor suppressor genes and oncogenes. Thus, we found GBMs with high level of EGFR amplification, low level and with no EGFR amplification. Highly amplified tumors showed histological features of…
Violent offending in borderline personality disorder and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
2018
Abstract The prevalence of borderline personality disorder (BPD) and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is significantly higher among offenders compared to the prevalence found in the general population. Both disorders share important diagnostic characteristics and thus it has been suggested that they might follow a common developmental pathway. In this narrative review, we first discuss the potential links of disorder inherent symptoms such as impulsivity and emotion regulation difficulties and how they might elevate the risk of violent delinquency. We continue with highlighting that comorbidities particularly from the antisocial spectrum as well as comorbid substance use diso…
Concept of Spectrobiopsy Facing Gliomas: Rational and Future Perspectives Related to Target Therapy
2020
Gliomas represent the most common primary intracranial tumors with an estimated incidence of 31% of all central nervous system neoplasms. Lesions originated from glial cells are extremely heterogeneous, ranging from low grade to high grade with different clinical and biological malignancy. Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive and frequent primary malignant tumor of the central nervous system in adults. Even though in the past decades considerable efforts have been made in the therapeutic management of this type of tumor,2 the prognosis after diagnosis of GBM remains extremely poor, reaching a median overall survival of 12–18 months. In 2016 the World Health Organization clas…
