Xenohormones and oral homeostasis : impact on taste preferences and salivary glands
2012
Oral homeostasis strongly influences taste perceptions. It depends on a healthy oral epithelium and salivary gland secretions, which are both regulated by sex hormones. The aim of this thesis was to identify the effect of an oral exposure to Bisphenol A, a food packaging and dental sealer component, and of a soy-diet containing phytoestrogens on oral homeostasisTwo experiments were conducted in adult rats: a dose-response study of BPA (5μg 12.5 mg / kj / day), and a study about the impact of a soy-diet on the BPA disrupting effects. By using gustation choice tests, and histological and qPCR-TR molecular approach, we identify for the first time an action of BPA on dry mouth. We found that BP…

Intérêts et apports de l'analyse des variables latentes pour le chercheur en sciences sociales : exemple d'application à l'économie de l'éducation
2002
The ambition of this article is modest. Initially, it aims at presenting in a sample manner the concepts that underpin the standard use of LISREL models and showing their usefulness in social science research. It then proposes, as an illustration of the theoretical presentation, an example of application relating to the use of school time in the education system.

The peer groups bridging the disciplines and social contexts at higher education
2014
The aim of the study is to promote understanding of peer groups meanings from the students’ point of view. The research task is to find out teacher students’ conceptions of the andracogical peer groups in the health science teacher studies at university. Teacher students’ peer groups are based on andracogically formed principles. The participants are (65) health science teacher students, who have started in 2009-2012. The data (578 written pages) was gathered by using essay writing in the end of their one year teacher studies and analysed by a phenomenographic method. The results are three hierarchical categories of peer groups meanings description 1) Value of otherness in participation the…

Abnormal peripubertal development of the rat mammary gland following exposure in utero and during lactation to a mixture of genistein and the food co…
2012
The impact of early exposure to endocrine disruptor mixtures on mammary gland development is poorly known. Here, we identify the effects of a conception to weaning exposure of rats to the phytoestrogen genistein (G) and/or the antiandrogen vinclozolin (V) at 1 mg/kg-d, alone or in association. Using several approaches, we found that G- and GV-exposed rats displayed significantly greater epithelial branching and proliferation, wider terminal end buds than controls at PND35, as well as ductal hyperplasia and periductal fibrosis. Focal branching defects were present in V-exposed rats. An increased ER and AR expression was observed in G- and CV- as compared to V-exposed rats at PND35. Surprisin…
