Abstract 1778: Preclinical characterization of the safety and antitumor activity of IMAB027-vcMMAE, an anticlaudin 6 antibody-drug conjugate
2018
Abstract Background Claudin 6 (CLDN6) is a tight junction membrane protein whose expression in normal tissue is confined to embryonic cells, but is aberrantly expressed in various human cancers. The anti-CLDN6 monoclonal antibody (mAb), IMAB027, has shown promising antitumor activity in preclinical human CLDN6-positive (CLDN6+) cancer models. Conjugation of IMAB027 with monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) may utilize the precision tumor-targeting of the mAb to deliver a highly effective cytotoxic drug to the tumor. In this report we present the preclinical characterization of this antibody–drug conjugate, IMAB027–vcMMAE. Methods Internalization of IMAB027 in various CLDN6+ human ovarian (OC) and…
Volatile components from aerial parts of centaurea spinosociliata seenus ssp. Cristata (Bartl.) Dostál and centaurea spinosociliata seenus ssp. spino…
2010
The paper reports on the volatile components oil from aerial parts of two Asteraceae growing wild in Croatia: Centaurea spinosociliata ssp. cristata (syn. Centaurea cristata Bartl. subsp. rabenhorstiana (Sch.Bip.) Nyman) (CSC) and C. spinosociliata ssp. spinosociliata (CSS). The volatile components were obtained by hydrodistillation from selected plants and were determined by the GC-MS system on two fused-silica capillary columns of different polarity. The oil content was 0.08 % (CSC) and 0.07 % (CSS) on a dry weight basis. Altogether 73 compounds were identified accounting for 90.8 % (CSC) and 92.8 % (CSS) of the total oil, that were characterized mainly by hydrocarbons (37.9 %; 30.4 %), s…
The Process-inducing Activity of Transmembrane Agrin Requires Follistatin-like Domains
2009
Clustering or overexpression of the transmembrane form of the extracellular matrix proteoglycan agrin in neurons results in the formation of numerous highly motile filopodia-like processes extending from axons and dendrites. Here we show that similar processes can be induced by overexpression of transmembrane-agrin in several non-neuronal cell lines. Mapping of the process-inducing activity in neurons and non-neuronal cells demonstrates that the cytoplasmic part of transmembrane agrin is dispensable and that the extracellular region is necessary for process formation. Site-directed mutagenesis reveals an essential role for the loop between beta-sheets 3 and 4 within the Kazal subdomain of t…
Flavans and other chemical constituents of Crinum biflorum (Amaryllidaceae)
2019
Abstract The ethyl acetate extract from the whole plant of Crinum biflorum Rottb. Showed a moderate activity against Enterococcus faecalis. Its phytochemical investigation led to the isolation of a new flavan-3-ol derivative namely (2R,3R)-3-hydroxy-7-methoxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxyflavan, together with (2S)-7-hydroxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxyflavan, (2R,3R)-7-methoxy-flavan-3-ol, (2S)-7-hydroxy-3′,4′-dimethoxyflavan, 3′,7-dihydroxy-4′-methoxyflavan, 4′,7-dimethoxy-3′-hydroxyflavan, farrerol, β-sitosterol, β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, oleanolic acid, kaempferol, pancratistatin, lupeol, aurantiamide acetate, Narciprimine and 2,3-dihydroxypropyl palmitate. Their structures were elucidated ma…
Notes on the karyology, genetics and ecology of Genista sect. Voglera in Sicily
2012
To investigate the biosystematic and genetic relationships among Sicilian species of Genista sect. Voglera, four populations of three species, Genista aristata C. Presl, Genista cupanii Guss., and Genista madoniensis Raimondo, have been studied. Genista madoniensis is tetraploid, with a chromosome number of 2n = 48, as are the other two species. An isozyme study showed that G. madoniensis is taxonomically closer to G. aristata than to G. cupanii, the latter possessing four unique alleles. The results are discussed in the context of the ecological characteristics of each species.
AC Switching of Relaxor PLZT Ceramics
2005
The switching under application of bipolar ac field is studied by recording of the hysteresis loops in wide temperature and field range in PLZT x/65/35 ceramics. The qualitative difference of the shape of hysteresis loops above and below the freezing temperature is attributed to backswitching in relaxor phase due to the depolarization field produced by the bound charges located at the interphase boundaries. The application of the quasistatic approach to analysis of the experimental data allows us to obtain parameters of the distribution function of local coercive fields from the field dependence of the switching charge derivative on field.
The Mediterranean vermetid reefs: distribution and conservation status
2016
The vermetid reef is an intertidal bioconstruction distributed in the warmest waters of the Mediterranean Sea, and is built by the gregarious vermetid gastropodDendropomaspp. cemented by the coralline red algae of the genusNeogoniolithon.Thisbiogenichabitatisonly generically protected under the European Habitat Directive, but to date it is not explicitly taken into account in many conservation plans. Despite the documented local extinction of Dendropomain the some Eastern Mediterranean locations, its role as habitat engineer and the high numbers of ecosystem services provided, vermetid reef is among the least known marine bioconstruction of the Mediterranean. We counted 112 reefs along the …
On Uncertain Discontinuous Functions and Quasi-equilibrium in Some Economic Models
2020
In the paper is studied some properties of uncertain discontinuous mappings, the so-called w-discontinuous mappings. Based on them, the existence of a quasi-equilibrium for a new economic model is proved.

Similarities and differences between crystal and enzyme environmental effects on the electron density of drug molecules
2021
Abstract The crystal interaction density is generally assumed to be a suitable measure of the polarization of a low‐molecular weight ligand inside an enzyme, but this approximation has seldomly been tested and has never been quantified before. In this study, we compare the crystal interaction density and the interaction electrostatic potential for a model compound of loxistatin acid (E64c) with those inside cathepsin B, in solution, and in vacuum. We apply QM/MM calculations and experimental quantum crystallography to show that the crystal interaction density is indeed very similar to the enzyme interaction density. Less than 0.1 e are shifted between these two environments in total. Howeve…
