The fascinating nature of the Amalfi coast is the background for territories full of history and places of immense value. The text deals with the fragmentary issue of Piotr Skarga’s iconography which is the artistic legacy of the anniversaries celebrated in 1912 and 2012. The remembrance of this Jesuit’s death one hundred years ago stirred up many emotions. It was visible in, for instance, mass manifestations, books, theatre performances or the creations of fine arts. In the reality of the beginnings of the 20th century, what was important was the impact of the image created by Jan Matejko as well as its ideological, virtually mystical, background. My doctoral work in the history of medieval art unfolds from a multistep process. Based on the initial finding pertaining to the pervasive use of an iconography of Virtues in the Middle Ages, something specific emerged: its presence in sites of government, as well as its common association with the powerful, be it in the civic or religious spheres. This dissertation deals with the meaning of the peacock and the phoenix within contexts of worship and funerary contexts in the Mediterranean area, between the IVth and the XIIth centuries. The study is based on an iconographic documentation meeting 490 items of the peacock and 68 items of the phoenix. These birds were imaged in various ways as well as coins, paintings of catacombs, sarcophagi, mosaics (pavements, domes, apses, …), manuscripts, and even chancel screens. The analysis of the documentation indicates that links were weaved between both birds associated with the idea of revival long before the IVth century. Polymer/metal hybrid multilayers modified Schottky devices

Insulating, polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), and semiconducting, poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), nanometer thick polymers/Au nanoparticles based hybrid multilayers (HyMLs) were fabricated on p-Si single-crystal substrate. An iterative method, which involves, respectively, spin-coating (PMMA and P3HT deposition) and sputtering (Au nanoparticles deposition) techniques to prepare Au/HyMLs/p-Si Schottky device, was used. The barrier height and the ideality factor of the Au/HyMLs/p-Si Schottky devices were investigated by current-voltage measurements in the thickness range of 1-5 bilayers. The theory of quasiconformal mappings divides traditionally into two branches, the mappings in the plane and the case of higher dimensions. Basically, this is not due to the history of the topic but rather since planar quasiconformal mappings admit flexible methods (so far) not available in space. In this expository paper we wish to describe some recent trends and activities in quasiconformal theory peculiar to the plane. It is obvious, though, that not all topics can be covered no matter which point of view is taken; many important advances and connections must necessarily be bypassed. El presente artículo estudia el proceso constructivo y de ornamentación de la desaparecida capilla del gremio de armeros de la catedral de Valencia realizada con trazas de Pere Compte por los maestros García de Vargas y Joan Corbera a partir de 1492. Se centra en el análisis del retablo dedicado a la vida de San Martín, sus características escultóricas y especialmente el encargo de las puertas a Nicolás Falcó, proponiendo que las hasta ahora denominadas sargas del órgano sean en realidad, correspondientes con este trabajo pictórico.
