Katecheza w szkole czy poza szkołą?
2012
In the contemporary religious education, a great amount of deliberations is devoted to the subject of religious education (by whom? to whom?), its contents (what?), aims (what for?), methods and means (how?), conditioning (where? when?), but only occasionally questions are raised about the need and justification for religious education. Meanwhile, the question of justification for religious education is gaining more and more importance in the situation of increasing secularization of social and personal life. It is important to go back and recall these arguments that justify religious education in various educational environments. The contemporary conditioning of catechesis is undergoing si…

Brakes and barriers of Corporate Volunteering
2017
The objective of this research is to study which are the determinants for the participation of employees in Corporate Volunteer actions -hereafter CV- that can become barriers and brakes, and which ones can mean negative consequences for the company. Ignorance of managers for these programs, about which are those brakes and its relevance, may be behind the low participation fees that companies have in their Corporate Volunteering Programs. For this purpose, we conducted a qualitative empirical study to define a model, based on the motivations and determinants of employee participation in corporate volunteer programs. The methodology that we use in order to advance the understanding of this f…
Unawareness and Partitional Information Structures
1999
Abstract We claim first that simple uncertainty is not an adequate model of a subject's ignorance, because a major component of it is the inability to give a complete description of the states of the world, and we provide a formal model of unawareness. In Modica and Rustichini (1994) we showed a difficulty in the project, namely that without weakening of the inference rules of the logic one would face the unpleasant alternative between full awareness and full unawareness. In this paper we study a logical system where non full awareness is possible, and prove that a satisfactory solution to the problem can be found by introducing limited reasoning ability of the subject. A determination theo…
Do we need algebraic-like computations? A reply to Bonatti, Pena, Nespor, and Mehler (2006).
2006
L. L. Bonatti, M. Pena, M. Nespor, and J. Mehler (2006) argued that P. Perruchet, M. D. Tyler, N. Galland, and R. Peereman (2004) confused the notions of segmentation and generalization by ignoring the evidence for generalization in M. Pena, L. L. Bonatti, M. Nespor, and J. Mehler (2002). In this reply, the authors reformulate and complement their initial arguments, showing that their way of dealing with segmentation and generalization is not due to confusion or ignorance but rather to the fact that the tests used in Pena et al. make it likely that neither segmentation nor generalization were captured in their experiments. Finally, the authors address the challenge posed by Pena et al. of a…
The Fascination of History Ignored: Explosive Economic Paths for Which We Pay a Huge Price
2018
The paper is presenting a series of examples of ignored history – facts which were overlooked and the humankind who didn’t seem to learn anything. The examples are many: from the eighteenth-century revolutions to the First and Second World Wars and from the economic crisis of 2008–2009 to recent developments in East European countries, particularly in Romania, the people ignore the lessons, and the price paid for this ignorance is huge.
The Origin of Life: More Questions Than Answers
1988
AbstractMore than 30 years of experimentation on the origin of life in the fields of chemical and molecular evolution have led to a better perception of the immensity of the problem of the origin of life on Earth rather than to its solution. At present all discussions on principal theories and experiments in the field either end in stalemate or in a confession of ignorance. New lines of thinking and experimentation must be tried. The continued exploration of our solar system, especially a better knowledge of Mars and Venus, of comets and carbonaceous meteorites may also lead to a better understanding of the prebiotic environment on Earth and will thus help us to design more appropriate preb…

Huntington and the liberal thought. Problems of Anglo-democracy to understand politics
2013
The liberal thought has inspired philosophy and sociology during years. From its view, US has two main goals. One is to expand the civilized culture to other non-western countries, and second to grant the democratic values. Paradoxically, terrorism poses one of the most troubling aspects of contemporanean democracy. On one hand, not only it defies the democratic resources to anticipate the next blow, but also put US to conduct one-sided attacks to autonomous countries. To legitimize the expansion of this new imperial order, the liberal discourse appealed to two strategies: first and foremost, denoting pejoratively as the case of Latin America that there is a cultural matrix that impedes the…
God and the Profit—A European Overlook on Some Economic Doctrines
2018
When we discuss the relationship religion-European identity, we should switch between two parties. We do not have “unique networks”. It is necessary to have “accomplices” and “connivance”, in the good sense of these words, for the purpose of progress which does not come only from one part, but from all parts. It is also necessary to always look to the future, but without neglecting history knowledge, depicting lessons, the needed experience. Out of all these, we exclude anarchism, left or right-side terrorism, religious or lay, Islamic or Christian etc. Superior technologies may promote it widely developed. Let us start from the fact that people radicalization—beyond those paid directly to …
