MoSi2 laser cladding—A new experimental procedure: double-sided injection of MoSi2 and ZrO2
2003
International audience; In the last decade, development of low density advanced material systems for service at temperatures up to 1300 °C was one of the goals of many researches. This kind of material should mainly have moderate fracture toughness and should exhibit oxidation resistant behaviour at low and intermediate temperature. One of the most studied materials continues to be the intermetallic compound MoSi2. The molybdenum disilicide has been considered as an attractive candidate due to its melting point (2030 °C) and excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures. The main problem associated with the MoSi2 layer synthesized using laser beam is the layer fragility. To avoid this…
Rural settlement in the territorium of Ilici: the Roman farm of The Cabezo-Clot de Galvany (Elx, Alicante)
2015
2022
This paper describes the petrography and infers the provenance of siliciclastic rocks from the Upper Devonian of the Iberian Chains (Tabuenca, NE Spain), and outlines the tectonic setting associated with the Ebro Massif. These Devonian deposits are constituted by four different siliciclastic units: the Rodanas, Bolloncillos, Hoya and Huechaseca Formations. The provenance and diagenesis of over 400 sedimentary rocks samples are studied with a combination of petrographic polarizing microscope, scanning electron microscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction. In this sense, AAS and XRF analysis were used to determine the content of Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Na, K an…
TUNGAU PADA DAUN MANGGA (Mangifera Indica)
2014
Mites have hostplant specifications or host plants. Mites can be destructive and deadly of which is the host plants a mango crop. Mites on mango crops will cause the leaves yellow and fall off prematurely. This is will lead to the disruption of the productivity of mango. It is necessary for research to identify the mites that infect the mango crop. The method is carried out by direct observation. Mites were taken from the surface of mango leaves later in preservation with several levels of concentration of alcohol, and polyvinyl laktofenol. Then, observed under a microscope and documented for identification purposes. Mites on the leaf surface of manalagi mango (<em>Mangifera indica<…
Gallium-68 and scandium-44 labelled radiotracers based on curcumin structure linked to bifunctional chelators: Synthesis and characterization of pote…
2019
Abstract Curcumin metal complexes showed widespread applications in medicine and can be exploited as a lead structure for developing new tracers for nuclear medicine application. Herein, the synthesis, chemical characterization and radiolabelling with gallium-68 and scandium-44 of two new targeting vectors based on curcumin scaffolds and linked to the chelators 1,4,7-triazacyclononane,1-glutaric acid-4,7-acetic acid (NODAGA) and 1,4-bis(carboxymethyl)-6-[bis(carboxymethyl)]amino-6-methylperhydro-1,4-diazepine (AAZTA) are reported. Synthesis of the precursors could be achieved with a 13% and 11% yield and radiolabelling generally afforded rapid incorporation under mild conditions (>95%). Sta…
Arginine kinase in the demosponge Suberites domuncula:regulation of its expression and catalytic activity by silicic acid
2005
SUMMARY In Demospongiae (phylum Porifera) the formation of the siliceous skeleton, composed of spicules, is an energetically expensive reaction. The present study demonstrates that primmorphs from the demosponge Suberites domuncula express the gene for arginine kinase after exposure to exogenous silicic acid. The deduced sponge arginine kinase sequence displays the two characteristic domains of the ATP:guanido phosphotransferases; it can be grouped to the `usual' mono-domain 40 kDa guanidino kinases (arginine kinases). Phylogenetic studies indicate that the metazoan guanidino kinases evolved from this ancestral sponge enzyme; among them are also the `unusual'two-domain 80 kDa guanidino kinas…
Novel σ1 antagonists designed for tumor therapy: Structure – activity relationships of aminoethyl substituted cyclohexanes
2021
Abstract Depending on the substitution pattern and stereochemistry, 1,3-dioxanes 1 with an aminoethyl moiety in 4-position represent potent σ1 receptor antagonists. In order to increase the stability, a cyclohexane ring first replaced the acetalic 1, 3-dioxane ring of 1. A large set of aminoethyl substituted cyclohexane derivatives was prepared in a six-step synthesis. All enantiomers and diastereomers were separated by chiral HPLC at the stage of the primary alcohol 7, and their absolute configuration was determined by CD spectroscopy. Neither the relative nor the absolute configuration had a large impact on the σ1 affinity. The highest σ1 affinity was found for cis-configured benzylamines…
Enhancement of self-sustaining reaction by mechanical activation: case of an FeSi system
1999
Mechanical high energy ball milling of an Fe2Si elemental powders mixture was used to activate a self sustaining combustion reaction or so-called self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) to form iron disilicide, a reaction for which the thermodynamic criterion is not favorable. A complete characterization of the milled powders before reaction was performed with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry, specific surface measurements and X-ray diffraction profile analysis. Thermal and structural information describing the combustion front initiated by heating up a sample to 400°C in a Fe‐Si system is communicated. In order to isolate the phases involved in the gasless reaction, a time-re…
The role of melt-fracture degassing in defusing explosive rhyolite eruptions at volcán Chaitén
2012
Explosive volcanic eruptions of silicic magma often evolve towards non-explosive emissions of lava. The mechanisms underlying this transition remain unclear, however, a widely cited idea holds that shear-induced magma fragmentation plays a critical role by fostering volatile loss from fragmentary magma and through ash-filled cracks termed tuffisite. We test this hypothesis by measuring H2O concentrations within glassy tuffisite from the 2008–2011 rhyolitic eruption at volcan Chaiten, Chile. We show that while H2O concentrations decrease next to tuffisite veins and at the margins of obsidian fragments, the depletions cannot account for the disparity in H2O between explosively and effusively …
Understanding the regioselectivity in hetero Diels–Alder reactions. An ELF analysis of the reaction between nitrosoethylene and 1-vinylpyrrolidine
2013
[EN] The regioselectivity in the hetero Diels-Alder reaction between nitrosoethylene 1 and 1-vinylpyrrolidine 2 has been studied by a comparative ELF bonding analysis along the IRC of the endo/ortho and endo/meta regioisomeric channels at the B3LYP/6-31G*. level. Along the most favorable endo/ortho regioisomeric channel, the C-C sigma bond is first formed by coupling of two pseudoradical centers located at the most electrophilic carbon of 1 and the most nucleophilic center of 2. Formation of these relevant pseudoradical centers, which depend on the total charge transfer process along the polar reaction, and not on the approach mode of each reagent, is well characterized by analysis of the a…
