Iterative Learning Applied to Hydraulic Pressure Control

This paper addresses a performance limiting phenomenon that may occur in the pressure control of hydraulic actuators subjected to external velocity disturbances. It is demonstrated that under certain conditions a severe peaking of the control error may be observed that significantly degrades the performance of the system due to the presence of nonlinearities. The phenomenon is investigated numerically and experimentally using a system that requires pressure control of two hydraulic cylinders. This paper presents an information fusion method for image retrieval; the retrieval strategy is based on statistical and geometrical features extracted from sub-images. Our goal is to find a set of best similar images related to a prototype image; this goal may be obtained according to image content rather than symbolic attributes. MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) images and astronomical images have been adopted to test the method. We first present an extension of the shape-from-polarization method for dielectric surfaces to metallic surfaces. Biochar pore space consists of porosity of multiple length scales. In direct water holding applications like water storage for plant water uptake, the main interest is in micrometre-range porosity since these pores are able to store water that is easily available for plants. Gas adsorption measurements which are commonly used to characterize the physical pore structure of biochars are not able to quantify this pore-size range. Tämän tutkielman tarkoitus oli selvittää, millä tavoin pianonsoiton ammattiopiskelijat käyttävät mentaaliharjoittelua osana harjoittelustrategioitaan. Selvitin puolistrukturoidun kyselykaavakkeen avulla pianonsoiton ammattiopiskelijoiden mentaaliharjoittelun käyttöä, ja siihen liittyviä asenteita mentaaliharjoittelun tapojen, -kohteiden ja -ehtojen konteksteissa. Lisäksi toissijaisena tutkimuskohteena kartoitin opiskelijoiden harjoittelun määrään ja laatuun liittyviä asenteita, sekä sitä, kuinka paljon he kokivat keskustelevansa instrumenttiopettajansa kanssa harjoittelun laadullisista ja määrällisistä elementeistä.
