Impact analysis of MPL and PEM thickness on temperature distribution within PEFC operating at relatively higher temperature

2020

Abstract In Japan, it is recommended to operate Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell (PEFC) at temperature around 90 °C for stationary applications during the period from 2020 to 2025. However, the present PEFC is using Nafion polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) and operated within the temperature range from 60 °C to 80 °C. It is important to understand the temperature distribution in a cell of PEFC for improving the performance and to realize the long life span. This study focuses on use of micro porous layer (MPL), which can promote the moisture transfer in order to control the temperature distribution. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of MPL on temperature distribution at reaction …

Analysis of an interferometric optical fibre detection technique applied to silicon vibrating sensors

1987

A simple and accurate analysis of a single-mode optical fibre interferometric displacement detection technique is resented. This analysis is in good agreement with experimental measurements, and shows that angular alignment between the fibre and the sensor is the most critical parameter.

Heavy-Ion Radiation Impact on a 4 Mb FRAM Under Different Test Modes and Conditions

2016

International audience; The impact of heavy-ions on commercial Ferroelectric Memories (FRAMs) is analyzed. The influence of dynamic and static test modes as well as several stimuli on the error rate of this memory is investigated. Static test results show that the memory is prone to temporary effects occurring in the peripheral circuitry, with a possible effect due to fluence. Dynamic tests results show a high sensitivity of this memory to switching activity of this peripheral circuitry.

The weak mixing angle from low energy neutrino measurements: A global update

2016

Taking into account recent theoretical and experimental inputs on reactor fluxes we reconsider the determination of the weak mixing angle from low energy experiments. We perform a global analysis to all available neutrino-electron scattering data from reactor antineutrino experiments, obtaining sin^2(theta_W) = 0.252 \pm 0.030. We discuss the impact of the new theoretical prediction for the neutrino spectrum, the new measurement of the reactor antineutrino spectrum by the Daya Bay collaboration, as well as the effect of radiative corrections. We also reanalyze the measurements of the nu_e-e cross section at accelerator experiments including radiative corrections. By combining reactor and ac…

Structure and Physical Properties of Na1/2Bi1/2TiO3-CdTiO3Solid Solutions

2011

Behaviour of ferroelectric properties in Na1/2Bi1/2TiO3-CdTiO3 solid solutions correlates with dependence of lattice symmetry versus concentration of constituents. However, some overlapping is observed in concentration range close to the morphotropic phase boundary. The properties of dielectric permittivity, characteristic for relaxor ferroelectrics, diminish, if concentration of CdTiO3 increases, but it is not influenced by the change of crystallographic symmetry. The electromechanical properties are mostly pronounced in the range of cubic-tetragonal morphotropic phase boundary.

Skyrmion-number dependence of spin-transfer torque on magnetic bubbles

2015

We theoretically study the skyrmion-number dependence of spin-transfer torque acting on magnetic bubbles. The skymrion number of magnetic bubbles can take any integer value depending on the magnetic profile on its circumference and the size of the bubble. We find that the transverse motion of a bubble with respect to the charge current is greatly suppressed as the absolute value of the skyrmion number departs from unity, whereas the longitudinal motion is less sensitive.

Aesthetic imagination and animate peace

2017

This chapter discusses the nature crisis through looking at how one might work towards dynamic coexistence with non-human nature through communicating and bonding with domestic mammals, thereby anchoring ourselves in the world. It explores the negative and positive peace between humans and non-human nature, and introduces 'animate peace' to suggest that peace is a dynamic, complex and challenging, in addition to rewarding, state of affairs. The chapter focuses on the multimodal, holistic character of communication; how it is temporally layered and emerging in a relationship that transforms both parts; and how it marginalises verbal language as a means of communication. It expresses that the…
