Kinetics of gamma-H2AX focus formation upon treatment of cells with UV light and alkylating agents.

Histone H2AX is rapidly phosphorylated in response to DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) induced by ionizing radiation (IR). Here we show that DNA damage induced by alkylating agents [methyl methanesulfonate (MMS) and N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG)] and ultraviolet light (UV-C) leads to a dose and time dependent accumulation of phosphorylated H2AX (gamma-H2AX). Time course experiments revealed that the number of gamma-H2AX foci reached peak levels 8 hr after MMS or MNNG treatment and declined to almost control values within 24 hr after exposure. Human asialoglycoprotein receptor as an autoantigen in chronic hepatitis.

ASGPR may play a role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune chronic liver diseases. Several lines of evidence support this hypothesis. Antibodies to rabbit ASGPR could be found in various inflammatory liver diseases. In contrast, ASGPR preparations derived from human liver (h-ASGPR) were recognized predominantly by sera from patients with ai-CAH. IL-21 Regulates the Differentiation of a Human γδ T Cell Subset Equipped with B Cell Helper Activity

Vγ9Vδ2 T lymphocytes recognize nonpeptidic antigens without presentation by MHC molecules and display pleiotropic features. Here we report that coculture of Vγ9Vδ2 cells with phosphoantigen and IL-21 leads to selective expression of the transcription repressor Bcl-6 and polarization toward a lymphocyte subset displaying features of follicular B-helper T (T(FH)) cells.
