Islamic investment funds have become increasingly important because of high demand from many investors, including those outside the Muslim investment community. This article compares the performance and risk sensitivity of Islamic mutual funds in the United States with that of their conventional peers. This article also analyzes the performance of Islamic funds, and compares this performance with that of socially responsible investment (SRI) mutual funds. The difficulty of applying exclusion criteria in ethical portfolios

A main problem for socially responsible investors is deciding which companies should be included in their investment portfolio. Small investors may decide not to invest in companies they know are not behaving responsibly. Therefore, discredited companies will not be included in their portfolios, as they will understand those companies cannot be defined as ethical. To implement this procedure properly and apply it to big portfolios is a complex exercise which requires big amounts of information and the problems faced by investors applying such exclusion criteria to select their portfolio.
Socially Responsible Investing in ”High-Net-Worth” Asset Management Firms in Canada: An Exploratory Study

Socially responsible investing (SRI) is an increasingly well-known investment strategy. However, in most nations, SRI is not mainstream practice. This paper investigates perceptions of SRI amongst investment professionals from “high-net-worth” investment firms in Toronto, Canada. Existing corporate practices in relation to stock selection and client relations are documented, in order to assess how these practices might facilitate or prevent SRI. Views of SRI, and its current and potential future role in investment practice, were also explored. Interface behaviour of bonded CFRP-Calcarenite stone joints

This paper presents the results of an experimental study investigating the interface behaviour between calcarenite stone and Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) reinforcement. The analysis of the results has allowed to deduce the local behaviour at the interface, which can be modelled by means of a bi-linear shear stress-slip law, according to several codes. The experimental investigation was carried out on specimens subjected to double shear pulling tests by varying the bond length of the CRFP strips. ¿Por qué este libro? es que no hay libros dedicados a ilustrar y mostrar cómo hacer tablas de contingencia y gráficos a partir de esas tablas usando R; hablando más específicamente usando expss y highcharter. Por otro lado, a partir de mi experiencia y de muchos años dedicado al mundo de la investigación y la docencia (mi hobbie personal) encontré el tiempo y la motivación para escribirlo.
