Optical spectroscopy using mass-separated beams: Nuclear properties of unstable indium and tin isotopes

1987

Abstract Collinear fast-beam laser-spectroscopy has been used to measure the hyperfine structure and isotope shift of several indium and tin isotopes. The related experimental techniques are described, including the preparation of mass-separated beams of neutron-deficient indium and tin isotopes at the GSI on-line mass separator following fusion-evaporation reactions. The deviation of the observed dependence of the charge radii upon the neutron number from the expected behaviour is briefly discussed.

Stimulated-echo NMR spectroscopy of 9Be and 7Li in solids: method and application to ion conductors.

2002

The generation of pure quadrupolar stimulated-echo spectra is successfully demonstrated for the spin-3/2 probe 9Be in a single crystal of triglycine fluoberyllate. This solid exhibits a paraelectric-to-ferroelectric phase transition. From experiments carried out for various mixing times no indications for a slow soft mode could be detected in this crystal. Then ion conducting lithium metal phosphates were studied using 7Li, another spin-3/2 probe which allows for a non-selective excitation of the entire NMR spectrum. In the indium and the scandium phosphates ultra-slow Li hopping processes could be detected directly via the stimulated-echo technique in a time range of up to four orders of m…

ODEPR of indium colour centres in the X- irradiated storage phosphor KBr:In

1995

The results of measurements of the magnetic circular dichroism of the optical absorption (MCDA) and optically detected electron paramagnetic resonance (ODEPR) of X-irradiated KBr :In crystals are presented. The MCDA bands and ODEPR parameters of In°(1) centers and In 2+ centres have been measured. The mechanism of the energy storage in KBr :In crystals is found not to be simply the formation of correlated F centre-In 2+ centre pairs as was assumed previously. Considerable similarities to the storage phosphor BaFBr :Eu 2+ were found for the photostimulated emission and read-out properties.

Effect of annealing on Zn1−xCoxO thin films prepared by electrodeposition

2009

Polycrystalline thin films of Zn"1"-"xCo"xO with different cobalt (Co) content were grown on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrates by cathodic electrodeposition technique and subsequently annealed in air at 400^oC. The effect of annealing in their structural, optical and chemical properties has been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman scattering and optical spectroscopy. Our measurements indicate that moderate annealing increases the crystal quality of the films. The films are highly transparent in the visible range and evidence an increase of the band gap and of the intensity of three typical Co absorptio…

Parallel Recording of Single Quantum Dot Optical Emission Using Multicore Fibers

2016

Single Indium Arsenide Quantum Dot emission spectra have been recorded using a four-core, crosstalk-free, multicore fiber placed at the collection arm of a confocal microscope. We developed two different measurement set-ups depending on the relative configuration of the excitation and collection spots. In the single-matched mode, the emission from the excited area is collected by a single core in the multicore fiber, whereas the three remaining cores capture the emission from neighboring, non-excited areas. This procedure allows for the recording of the Quantum Dot emission from carrier diffusion between sample positions separated by more than 6 μm. In the multiple-matched mode, the ex…

Electrical and photovoltaic properties of indium‐tin‐oxide/p‐InSe/Au solar cells

1987

Conditions for efficiency improvement and optimization in indium‐tin‐oxide/p‐indium‐selenide solar cells are discussed in this paper. This aim is achieved by using low‐resistivity p‐indium‐selenide and by incorporating a back‐surface‐field contact. This contact is insured by a p‐indium selenide/gold barrier whose rectifying behavior is explained through the complex impurity structure of p‐indium‐selenide. Electrical and photovoltaic properties of the cells are also reported. The efficiency parameters under AM1 simulated conditions have been improved up to 32 mA/cm2 for the short‐circuit current density, 0.58 V for the open‐circuit voltage, and 0.63 for the filling factor. As a result, solar…

Virtual Resource Allocation for Wireless Virtualized Heterogeneous Network with Hybrid Energy Supply

2022

In this work, two novel virtual user association and resource allocation algorithms are introduced for a wireless virtualized heterogeneous network with hybrid energy supply. In the considered system, macro base stations (MBSs) are supplied by the grid power and small base stations (SBSs) have the energy harvesting capability in addition to the grid power supplement. Multiple infrastructure providers (InPs) own the physical resources, i.e., BSs and radio resources. The Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) are able to recent these resources from the InPs and operate the virtualized resources for providing services to different users. In particular, aiming to maximize the overall utility …

Efficiency enhancement of organic light emitting diodes by NaOH surface treatment of the ITO anode

2009

Abstract Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on tris-(8-idroxyquinoline)aluminum (Alq 3 ) with enhanced efficiency are reported here. This is obtained by improving the charge carrier balance, through a preliminary NaOH surface treatment of the indium tin oxide (ITO) anode, in order to decrease its work function and, consequently, reduce the hole injection. The obtained devices exhibit a 1.36% external quantum efficiency and a 1.2 lm/W power efficiency at a current density of 60 mA/cm 2 . These values are more than double as compared with those of identical reference devices fabricated without the preliminary NaOH surface treatment.
