This article investigates how staff and management in Norwegian academic libraries have experienced the implementation of the new library management system Alma. As a new library management system is introduced, the need for learning on demand emerges. An anonymous survey was sent to all academic libraries in Norway, resulting in a total of 626 responses. This article presents the findings from this survey and provides some reflections on how a firm grip on knowledge management could have helped make such a transition easier.

Among the most important 21st century skills that every student needs are the ability to work with information. The key for implementing competency based approach to learning will be related to how students' ability to apply skills acquired in, for example, mathematics can be transferred to other subject contexts. Newest OECD PISA results presented in 2016 show a recurring tendency that in Latvia there is a small number of students whose performance is in accordance to the 5th and 6th level of the framework. Maģistra darba temats ir “Publisko bibliotēku bibliotekāru informācijpratība”. Bibliotekāri ir starpnieki starp informāciju un lietotāju. Bibliotekāru informācijpratībai ir jābūt labā līmenī, lai kvalitatīvi apkalpotu bibliotēkas lietotājus. Līdz šim Latvijā nav veiktu pētījumu par bibliotekāru informācijpratību. Maģistra darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kāds ir publisko bibliotēku bibliotekāru informācijpratības līmenis, un sniegt ieteikumus tā uzlabošanai. Datu ieguvei izmantotas anketēšanas, intervijas un verbālā uzdevuma metodes.
