One of Agder University Librarys goals is to support teaching and research at the University of Agder (UoA). To do so, the library should be involved in research projects and offer the right products at the right time. The spring of 2012 a survey was conducted among researchers (academic staff and Ph.D.-students) at the faculty of humanities and education at UoA as well as the library staff. Aditional interviews was made with the library´s research librarians and two of the Ph.D.-students. Certain advantages of Scopus compare with Web of Science in a bibliometric analysis related to smoking

El objetivo de este trabajo es comparar entre Web of Science (WoS) y Scopus los indicadores bibliométricos básicos del área de tabaquismo de autores españoles en el período 2000-2009. Métodos: La búsqueda se realizó en el SCI-Expanded y Scopus (“smok*” OR “tobac*”). Resultados: La media total anual del nº de documentos fue de 41 ± 12 para WoS vs 60 ± 16 en Scopus (p = 0,007). Aumento progresivo del índice de colaboración. La media anual del índice de colaboración fue de 9,41 ± 2,73 en WoS vs 7,12 ± 1,52 en Scopus (p = 0,029). Este artículo tiene por objeto conocer el grado de normalización y la adecuación de las revistas científico-técnicas españolas del campo de las Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte a diversos apartados clave de las normas ISO 8-1977 e ISO 215-1986. A partir de la observación directa de los fascículos, se han confeccionado dos índices para calcular el Grado General de Normalización (GGN) y el Grado Fundamental de Normalización (GFN). This article gives an overview of the field of knowledge management and suggests how this can be applied to academic libraries. A literature review has been conducted and has been subject to a critical analysis of comparison to IFLAs standard for “Continuing Professional Development: Principles and Best Practices” (IFLA, 2015). Here IFLA has identified 10 points of best practice. These 10 points will be measured against the literature in the field of knowledge management to ascertain if academic libraries would benefit from a stronger relation to knowledge management.

Previous research on the field of research support is greatly focused on librarians’ competencies and how to assist researchers with what they lack in information literacy (IL) skills. We analyze Spanish production of papers on bibliometrics published in Spanish scientific journals and the use of information through the method of bibliographic reference analysis. Publications have been obtained from IME, ICYT and ISOC databases. The number of papers was 101 , with 1848 citations. The most important citations are to journal articles and Spanish publications, but <i>Scientometrics</i> is the most cited journal. Results seem to show that bibliometrics is a young discipline in our country, with an important role of classic authors. From the individual viewpoint, active aging refers to the ability of older persons, depending on their goals, functional capacity and opportunities, to engage in desired activities. This study investigated the role of health literacy in active aging among persons differing in their number of chronic conditions. Data were collected from 948 individuals, 57% women, aged 75, 80 and 85 in 2017–2018 in the city of Jyväskylä in Central Finland.
