A non-cooperative approach to the folk rule in minimum cost spanning tree problems
2023
This paper deals with the problem of finding a way to distribute the cost of a minimum cost spanning tree problem between the players. A rule that assigns a payoff to each player provides this distribution. An optimistic point of view is considered to devise a cooperative game. Following this optimistic approach, a sequential game provides this construction to define the action sets of the players. The main result states the existence of a unique cost allocation in subgame perfect equilibria. This cost allocation matches the one suggested by the folk rule.
The soil map of Italy: a hierarchy of geodatabases, from soil regions to sub-systems
2014
This paper is aimed at showing the organization of the national soil information system managed by the Agriculture Research Council of Italy (Soil Information System of Italy, SISI). The available soil geodatabases for the whole of Italy are those of the soil regions (1:5,000,000), subregions (1:1,000,000), and systems (1:500,000), while the soil subsystems geodatabase (1:250,000) is available for most part of Italy.
Map-based assessment of older adults’ life space: validity and reliability
2020
Background Map-based tools have recently found their way into health-related research. They can potentially be used to quantify older adults’ life-space. This study aimed to evaluate the validity (vs. GPS) and the test-retest reliability of a map-based life-space assessment (MBA). Methods Life-space of one full week was assessed by GPS and by MBA. MBA was repeated after approximately 3 weeks. Distance-related (mean and maximum distance from home) and area-related (convex hull, standard deviational ellipse) life-space indicators were calculated. Intraclass correlations (MBA vs. GPS and test-retest) were calculated in addition to Bland-Altman analyses (MBA vs. GPS). Results Fifty-eight older …
Psychometric properties of the MOBITEC-GP mobile application for real-life mobility assessment in older adults
2022
Aim of this study was to test the reliability and validity of the life-space measures and walking speed delivered by the MOBITEC-GP app. Participants underwent several supervised walking speed assessments as well as a 1-week life-space assessment during two assessment sessions 9 days apart. Fifty-seven older adults (47.4% male, mean age= 75.3 (±5.9) years) were included in the study. The MOBITEC-GP app showed moderate to excellent test-retest reliability (ICCs between 0.584 and 0.920) and validity (ICCs between 0.468 and 0.950) of walking speed measurements of 50 meters and above and of most 1-week life-space parameters, including life-space area, time spent out-of-home, and action range. T…
Lipas data 10/2021
2021
This data includes all sport facilities in Lipas database in 20.10.2021 and basic attribute information of the places. The data is classified and each sport facility has its own Lipas id. The data is provided as Esri Shapefiles (points, routes and areas) in Finnish, Swedish and English.
Mapping Digital Discourses of the Capital Region of Finland : Combining Onomastics, CADS, and GIS
2022
This article discusses the three Finnish city names Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa, and the urban discourses that surround them. The study reveals patterns of socio-spatial differentiation by examining what meanings people attach to these capital region cities and investigating how these meanings are expressed in online discourses. Using the methodological approach of corpus-assisted onomastics (CAO), this study incorporates onomastics, geographical information systems (GIS), and corpus linguistics. This interdisciplinary research also examines how corpus-assisted discourse studies (CADS) and GIS can be combined to reveal and visualize the contextual information and discursive patterns of topo…

Lipas-aineistot
2021
Lipas on valtakunnallinen paikkatietokanta liikuntapaikoista, ulkoilureiteistä ja virkistysalueista. Lipas-tietokantaan kerätään tiedot Suomen julkisista, erityisesti kuntien omistamista liikuntapaikoista.
