Ion beam intensity and phase space measurement techniques for ion sources.

Ion sources produce beams used in accelerators and other applications. Both development and use of ion sources need beam diagnostics to probe the plasma processes and beam formation for optimization purposes and to produce beam parameters needed for transport tuning. These diagnostics include beam intensity measurements usually carried out with Faraday cups or inductive pickups, magnetic separation, profile measurements with scintillation screens and wires, and phase space measurements with different types of emittance scanners. peerReviewed

Fracture and fatigue of titanium narrow dental implants: New trends in order to improve the mechanical response

Sixty-four fractured commercially pure titanium (cp-Ti) narrow dental implants (NDIs) with similar macrogeometry and connection designs were studied after different implantation times in humans in order to determine their reliability and to evaluate the causes of the fracture. These NDIs were compared with other similar implants, made with alloyed titanium with 15% Zr and with 12% strained titanium. Original implants were tested under static and fatigue conditions, simulating the tri-axial loads in the mouth by means of a Bionix hydraulic test machine. The implementation of new special education legislation in Finland

This article examines the implementation of new special education legislation in Finland among students with significant disabilities. The data consist of a nationwide survey and field observations. In the analysis, a policy implementation framework is utilized as a theoretical lens. The findings suggest that schools and municipalities that had participated in long-term development projects had more capacity and willingness to reform special education practices substantially, suggesting that learning in one policy area can transfer to other domains across multiple levels of national and local governments. This study is limited to aspects related to the nature of the applied fiscal policy. An analysis with theoretical elements contributes to the understanding of the characteristics of procyclical, countercyclical and acyclic fiscal policies. Moreover, a description of them based on the fiscal instruments used (government revenues and expenditures) facilitates the capture of the main features and implications on the economies of emerging countries compared to developed countries. International audience; Cet article relie les mécanismes de régulation de l’action publique territoriale à des enjeux de professionnalisation des agents de développement, acteurs pivot de l’ingénierie territoriale. Ceux-ci, inscrits dans des communautés épistémiques, posent les jalons d’une régulation pragmatique de l’action publique.Cependant, le registre concurrentiel de l’excellence territoriale couplé aux nouvelles formes de contrôles bureaucratique transforme les territoires de projet en segments d’exécution de politiques définies par des agences regroupant expertise et gestion.
