Full configuration interaction calculation of BeH adiabatic states.

An all-electron full configuration interaction (FCI) calculation of the adiabatic potential energy curves of some of the lower states of BeH molecule is presented. A moderately large ANO basis set of atomic natural orbitals (ANO) augmented with Rydberg functions has been used in order to describe the valence and Rydberg states and their interactions. The Rydberg set of ANOs has been placed on the Be at all bond distances. So, the basis set can be described as 4s3p2d1f3s2p1d(BeH)+4s4p2d(Be). Host—Guest Interactions Involving Cyclodextrins: Useful Complementary Insights Achieved by Polarimetry.

Abstract By means of simple polarimetry, we studied the binding abilities of native α-, β-, and γ-cyclodextrins toward a group of suitably chosen model guests. We were able to get reliable estimations of the binding constants K, spread over a wide range (from 3.7 to 12,300 M−1), allowing us to carry on interesting comparisons. A comprehensive discussion of polarimetric data, and in particular a detailed analysis of the variations ΔΘ of molar optical activities consequent to inclusion, offered us the opportunity to get useful insights into the structure and dynamic behavior of host–guest complexes.

Host-guest complexes of conformationally flexible

Host–guest complexes of C-hexyl-2-bromoresorcinarene (BrC6) with twelve potential aromatic N-oxide guests were studied using single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and 1H NMR spectroscopy. In the solid state, of the nine obtained X-ray crystal structures, eight were consistent with the formation of BrC6-N-oxide endo complexes. The lone exception was from the association between 4-phenylpyridine N-oxide and BrC6, in that case the host forms a self-inclusion complex. Interaction effects of enniatin B, deoxinivalenol and alternariol in Caco-2 cells.

Enniatin B (ENN B), deoxinivalenol (DON) and alternariol (AOH) are secondary metabolites of filamentous fungi. These mycotoxins are contaminants of vegetables and cereals. They are cytotoxic and their effects are enhanced by their mixtures. The objectives of this study were to compare the cytotoxicity of ENN B, DON and AOH alone or in combination in human adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cells and to evaluate the type of interactions of mycotoxin mixtures by the isobologram analysis. Implementation of local chiral interactions in the hyperspherical harmonics formalism

With the goal of using chiral interactions at various orders to explore properties of the few-body nuclear systems, we write the recently developed local chiral interactions as spherical irreducible tensors and implement them in the hyperspherical harmonics expansion method. We devote particular attention to three-body forces at next-to-next-to leading order, which play an important role in reproducing experimental data. We check our implementation by benchmarking the ground-state properties of $^3$H, $^3$He and $^4$He against the available Monte Carlo calculations. Hierarchical Self-Organization of Perylene Bisimide–Melamine Assemblies to Fluorescent Mesoscopic Superstructures

A series of three perylene tetracarboxylic acid bisimide dyes 3a-c bearing phenoxy substituents at the four bay positions of the perylene core were synthesized and their complexation behavior to complementary ditopic dialkyl melamines 8a-c was investigated. Binding constants and Gibbs binding energies for the hydrogen bonds between the imide and the complementary melamine moiety have been determined in several solvents by NMR and UV/Vis titration experiments with monotopic model compounds 5 and 9. Influence of Feeding and Oviposition by Phytophagous Pentatomids on Photosynthesis of Herbaceous Plants

Abstract Feeding by herbivorous insects may change photosynthetic activity of host plants. We studied how feeding and oviposition by herbivorous stink bugs, Murgantia histrionica and Nezara viridula (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae), affect photosynthetic parameters of Brassica oleracea (savoy cabbage) and Phaseolus vulgaris (French bean). First, we measured photosynthetic gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence imaging, and emission of induced volatile organic compounds (VOC) immediately after feeding and during a post-feeding period.
