Human Mobility Simulator for Smart Applications
2019
Several issues related to Smart City development require the knowledge of accurate human mobility models, such as in the case of urban development planning or evacuation strategy definition. Nevertheless, the exploitation of real data about users' mobility results in severe threats to their privacy, since it allows to infer highly sensitive information. On the contrary, the adoption of simulation tools to handle mobility models allows to neglect privacy during the design of location-based services. In this work, we propose a simulation tool capable of generating synthetic datasets of human mobility traces; then, we exploit them to evaluate the effectiveness of algorithms which aim to detect…
Detection of Points of Interest in a Smart Campus
2019
Understanding users' habits is a critical task in order to develop advanced services, such as personalized recommendation and virtual assistance. In this work, we propose a novel approach to detect Points of Interest visited by users of a campus, by using mobility traces collected through users' smartphones. Our method takes advantage of the intentional and recurrent nature of human movements to build up mobility profiles, and combines different machine learning methods to merge sensory information with the past users' behavior. The proposed approach has been validated on a synthetic dataset and the experimental results show its effectiveness.
Profili del trust nel diritto inglese: uno studio per fattispecie
2021
Some aspects of the English trust It is an accepted fact that the English common law has long been characterized by the historical presence of one peculiar institute, mostly unknown to many other European legal systems. Actually, trust has been at the centre of the scene for almost 800 years, even if with different names and functions. But it cannot be denied that its weight has always been felt in all fields of private law and occasionally of criminal law when a fiduciary relationship, such as that originated by the institution of a trust, has been breached, resulting in the illegal possession by the trustee of funds due to the beneficiary. This essay moves from a case-law perspective, in …
Condotta antisindacale nel lavoro tramite piattaforma digitale
2023
Entrusting to the trade union the procedural instrument of guaranteeing the collective interests of workers cannot depend on the contractual form chosen by the parties to the relationship. Excluding, therefore, that the trade union has an interest in acting in the face of conduct that undermines the regularity of the collective protection action is contrary to the very raison d'être of Article 28 of the Labour Statute to defend the constitutionally relevant rights involved in industrial relations, as well as to the spirit of promotion and support of trade union action of the Workers' Statute.
Addio all'utilitarismo?
2021
In this article I will argument that the best utilitarian theory, that of Sumner, Harsanyi, Ferraro, cannot always protect the liberal and social rights of contemporary occidental constitutions and can from conceptual point of view violate some fundamental rights of some minority groups. Phenomenal Change And Adolescents’ Psychological Disinterest In Commitments: A Concern For The Family Traditions
2015
The phenomenal changes such as biological, physical, social, technological and global changes, vitally affect the psychological uncertainty and pre-occupation in the minds of the adolescents. (Leckman et al., 2002, p.324). A lethargic attitude, avoidance of responsibility creeps into their system during this period, leading them to more socialising and less psychological commitments. (Jakubowski & Dembo, 2004). Researches show that Adolescents who were isolating themselves from family events and desiring only social events outside family tend to develop ‘low levels of commitment and self-regulatory resources, and they perceived their parents as being low in trust, openness, and supervision.…
Interest Rate Convergence, External Balances and the Euro Crisis
2016
Typically, the catching-up process between rich Northern Europe and poor Southern Europe and the diverging cost competitiveness between the two regions are considered alternative explanations for the widening current account imbalances in the euro area. This paper proposes a new explanation for the imbalances which led to the 2009 euro crisis i.e. large interest rate differentials among the EMU-12 countries which prevailed before the adoption of the euro. This finding suggests that the euro crisis was, at least to some extent, a consequence of the initial convergence shock.
Cross-lagged relations between math-related interest, performance goals and skills in groups of children with different general abilities
2015
Abstract This study examined the longitudinal relations among math-related interest, performance goals, and math skills in different ability groups. The participants were 790 Estonian children who were assessed at Grade 2 and Grade 3. The results of SEM analysis showed that previous math skills predicted positively math interest and negatively performance-avoidance goals at Grade 3. Also, Grade 2 performance-avoidance goals were negatively related to subsequent interest towards math. Comparing low-ability students with other students indicated that Grade 3 interest was positively predicted by previous skills, and negatively by performance-approach and -avoidance goals specifically in low-ab…
