Synthesis of Pyrrolidin-2-ones and of Staurosporine Aglycon (K-252c) by Intermolecular Michael Reaction
1999
Indolo[2,3-a]pyrrolo[3,4-c]carbazoles were isolated from nature, e.g., from low plants, especially fungi, as structurally rare natural substances. Responsible for naming and also the most important representative of this type is staurosporine (1), isolated from Streptomyces staurosporeus, and its aglycon (2), also known as staurosporinone or K-252c. 3,4-Disubstituted pyrrolidin-2-ones, a group of compounds with many interesting biological properties are related to staurosporinone. The most important property is the inhibition of protein kinase C (PKC), so that this antiproliferative agent can interfere with the cell cycle. The synthetic strategy, developed by us, allows the synthesis of pyr…
Molecular materials with conducting and magnetic properties based on ET and [ M(tdas)2]x-dithiolenes
2004
Two hybrid molecular materials showing a combination of magnetic and conducting properties, the charge-transfer (ET) 2 [Fe(tdas) 2 ] (1) and (ET)Ni(tdas) 2 (2), (ET=bis(ethylenedithio) tetrathiafulvalene; M=Fe, Ni; tdas=l,2,5-thiadiazole-3,4-dithiolate) salts, are characterized by vibrational (IR and Raman) and UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopies. These studies have proved to be effective and diagnostic tools in identifying the oxidation state (partial or integer) and the packing pattern (dimers or segregated stacks) of the ET donor only, since no v(C=C) group vibration sensitive to the charge of M(tdas) 2 complexes has been observed. This is ascribed to the extensive electron-delocalization inside t…
Über antimon-haltige heterocyclen
1980
Abstract p -Nitrophenyl- and p -tolyl-oxadithia- and trithiastibocanes have been synthesized from the respective aryldichlorostibane and dithiole. The compounds have been characterised by means of 13 C NMR and vibrational spectra (ν(SBS 2 ) 350–320 cm −1 ). The crystal structure of p -nitrophenyltrithiastibocane has been determined ( R = 0.042). The eight-membered ring exhibits a boat-chair conformation. Single-bond distances of SbC and SbS (219, 244 and 245 pm), a 1,5-transannular Sb⋯S interaction (319 pm), and Sb⋯S and Sb⋯O (339 and 353 pm) intermolecular contacts, result in a six-coordinated Sb III (ψ-monocapped octahedral) species. The two additional Sb⋯S distances are in accordance w…
Synthesis and crystal structure of {Rh2(O2CCH3)4·P(o-CH3OH6H4)Ph2}2. A novel dirhodium(II) monoadduct with intermolecular μ-oxo interactions
1997
Abstract We have investigated the reaction of dirhodium tetraacetate with the phosphine P( o -CH 3 OH 6 H 4 )Ph 2 (P) under different experimental conditions. From these reactions we have been able to isolate the dirhodium tetraacetate phosphine mono-adduct. The crystal structure shows that in the solid state this compound forms a centrosymmetric dimer of the dimer, {Rh 2 (O 2 CCH 3 ) 4 ·P(0-CH 3 OC 6 H 4 )Ph 2 } 2 , in which we oxygen atom from one acetate group in one Rh 2 (O 2 CCH 3 ) 4 ·P unit is axially coordinating one Rh atom on another Rh 2 (O 2 CCH 3 ) 4 · P unit (Rh⋯) 2.347(3) A intermolecular versus Rh⋯O 2.455(3) A intermolecular), and vice versa. The RhRh bond distance is 2.414…
Intramolecular versus intermolecular exchange pathways in the binuclear complex [Cu2(H2tea)2(4,4′-bipy)](ClO4)2·3H2O (H3tea=triethanolamine and 4,4′-…
2001
Abstract The binuclear copper(II) complex of formula [Cu2(H2tea)2(4,4′-bipy)](ClO4)2·3H2O (1) (H3tea=triethanolamine and 4,4′-bipy=4,4′-bipyridine) has been isolated and characterized by X-ray diffraction. Its structure consists of dinuclear [Cu2(H2tea)2(4,4′-bipy)]2+ cations, uncoordinated perchlorate anions and crystallization water molecules. Each copper atom exhibits a trigonal-bipyramidal environment with the three triethanolamine-oxygen atoms building the equatorial plane, and the triethanolamine-nitrogen and one of the 4,4′-bipy nitrogen atoms defining the three-fold axis. The 4,4′-bipy molecule acts as a bismonodentate bridging ligand, the copper–copper separation across it being 11…
Synthesis and structure of charge transfer salts of tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) and tetramethyl-TTF with 2,4,7-trinitro and 2,4,5,7-tetranitro-9-fluoren…
2009
Charge transfer salts of tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) and tetramethyltetrathiafulvalene (TMTTF) with the organic acceptors 2,4,7-trinitro-9-fluorenone and 2,4,5,7-tetranitro-9-fluorenone have been prepared and characterized. The compounds (TTF)(TENF) (1), (TTF)3(TRNF)2 (2) and (TMTTF)(TRNF) (3) contain mixed stacks of alternating TTF and nitrofluorenone units. Surprisingly, the degree of charge transfer that occurs in these salts is not controlled solely by the redox potentials of the building blocks, but apparently also by the most effective intermolecular interactions in the solid, as determined from the crystal struc- tures obtained. These three compounds exhibit poor electron delocalization…
Four-, five- and six-coordinated Zn-II complexes of OH-containing ligands: Syntheses, structure and reactivity
2002
Four-, five- and six-coordinated complexes of Zn-II with OH-rich molecules possessing an ONO binding core were synthesized, characterized and their structures were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, The corresponding metal ion geometries were found to be distorted tetrahedral, square pyramidal and octahedral, respectively. The complexes exhibit interesting lattice structures such as layered and corrugated sheets owing to the presence of a number of weak intermolecular interactions. The five-coordinated, water-bound Zn-II complex was studied because of its putative hydrolysis property towards p-nitrophenyl acetate. (C) Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2002.
Inclusion complexes of Cethyl-2-methylresorcinarene and pyridine N-oxides: breaking the C–I⋯−O–N+ halogen bond by host–guest complexation
2016
C ethyl-2-Methylresorcinarene forms host–guest complexes with aromatic N-oxides through multiple intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds and C–H⋯π interactions. The host shows conformational flexibility to accommodate 3-methylpyridine N-oxide, while retaining a crown conformation for 2-methyl- and 4-methoxypyridine N-oxides highlighting the substituent effect of the guest. N-Methylmorpholine N-oxide, a 6-membered ring aliphatic N-oxide with a methyl at the N-oxide nitrogen, is bound by the equatorial −N–CH3 group located deep in the cavity. 2-Iodopyridine N-oxide is the only guest that manifests intermolecular N–O⋯I–C halogen bond interactions, which are broken down by the host resulting i…
Self-assembly of 1D- and 3D-networks through non-coordination intermolecular forces: synthesis and crystal structures of copper(I) complexes based on…
2007
Reaction of [Cu2(H3CCN)2(μ-pydz)3][PF6]2 (1) with an excess of pyridazine or phthalazine yielded the novel dinuclear complexes [Cu2(μ-pydz)3(pydz)2][PF6]2 (2) and [Cu2 (μ- pydz)(μ-phtz)2(phtz)2][PF6]2 (5), respectively. Depolymerisation of the coordination polymer 1 ∞ {[Cu(μ-pydz)2][PF6]} (3) in dichloromethane by addition of an excess of benzo[c]cinnoline afforded the dinuclear copper(I) salt [Cu2(μ-pydz)2(pydz)2(benzo[c]cinnoline)2][PF6]2 (4). Furthermore, a new route for the preparation of bis(benzonitrile)tris(μ-phthalazine)dicopper(I) bis(trifluoromethanesulfonate), [Cu2(C6H5CN)2(μ-phtz)3][CF3SO3]2 (7), was established from {[Cu(CF3SO3)]2 ・C6H5Me}, phthalazine and benzonitrile via the …
Overcoming Steric Hindrance in Aryl‐Aryl Homocoupling via On‐Surface Copolymerization
2019
On-surface synthesis is a unique tool for growing low-dimensional carbon nanomaterials with precise structural control down to the atomic level. This novel approach relies on carefully designed precursor molecules, which are deposited on suitable substrates and activated to ultimately form the desired nanostructures. One of the most applied reactions to covalently interlink molecular precursors is dehalogenative aryl-aryl coupling. Despite the versatility of this approach, many unsuccessful attempts are also known, most of them associated to the poor capability of the activated precursors to couple to each other. Such failure is often related to the steric hindrance between reactants, which…
