Crisis y expansión en las relaciones comerciales hispano-rusas

En este trabajo se analizan las relaciones comerciales entre España y Rusia durante el periodo 2007-2011. En primer lugar, se estudian las relaciones comerciales globales entre ambos países y se destaca que Rusia constituye un socio comercial de gran relevancia para España. En segundo lugar, se analizan las importaciones españolas y se destaca el papel que en éstas juega el petróleo. En tercer lugar, se presta atención a las exportaciones españolas y se describen con detenimiento sus diversos componentes. Se concluye destacando las tendencias y límites de las relaciones comerciales entre ambos países y se apuntan algunas líneas de política económica para incentivarlas.
La dependencia energética europea de Rusia

Con frecuencia se apunta que existe una dependencia energética de la UE que la hace muy vulnerable respecto a Rusia. En este trabajo se analizarán diversos contenidos de esa dependencia. En primer lugar, se estudiaran las ventas de gas y petróleo de Rusia a la UE. En segundo lugar, se abordan los problemas ligados a terceros países por donde transitan los hidrocarburos, que abren una dimensión nueva a la dependencia europea. En tercer lugar, se apuntan los proyectos de transporte que unen a Rusia con la UE, que limitan parte de la vulnerabilidad energética de esta última.
¿A qué barreras se enfrentan hoy las pymes en el mercado de las licitaciones públicas internacionacionales?

El objetivo de este trabajo es contribuir a la escasa investigación existente sobre el acceso de las empresas españolas al mercado de las licitaciones públicas internacionales analizando, en particular, los problemas que encuentran las pymes. Se identifican y analizan las 21 barreras a las que estas se enfrentan en el mercado de las licitaciones públicas internacionales clasificadas en función de su origen: unas determinadas por la propia Administración y por el país de la licitación, denominadas barreras externas y otras debidas a las capacidades, recursos y habilidades de las pymes, denominadas internas. El análisis teórico se complementa con un estudio cualitativo de empresas españolas.

Foreign investment flows have increased steadily in the last decades, although the financial crisis and the role played by certain emerging economies, mainly PRC, are negatively influencing them. A change of trend is not ascertainable yet, but some backlash against foreign direct investment exists in particular countries. The development of mechanisms of control of foreign investment shows this change of attitude. Rail freight transport and demand requirements : an analysis of attribute cut-offs through a stated preference experiment

This paper analyses the choice between road and rail in Spain where rail market share for freight is still residual. Discrete choice models are estimated with data obtained through a two-phase fieldwork, thus allowing us to carry out a stated preference efficient design for each interviewee. We analyse the existence of attribute cut-offs and the presence of a segment of the population with a zero value of frequency. Our results show that ignoring the existence of cut-offs and segments of the population with polarised valuations can lead to erroneous conclusions in terms of the possibilities of rail for absorbing significant quota.
The refugee entrepreneurship process from/in emerging economies

The paper examines several refugee experiences in Mexico and presents their reasons for leaving their home countries. A gap in research is identifying the entrepreneurial process experienced by refugee entrepreneurs. We use the case study of 10 Latin American refugees in Mexico to propose a conceptual framework that describes the entrepreneurial process of refugee entrepreneurs. We have found that this process begins with the abandonment of the country of origin, followed by the traumatic experiences that caused flight and the difficulties they face in the pilgrimage to the host country. These events help shape the entrepreneurial intention of the refugees.

Abstract The recent listing of a new crude oil futures contract on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE) has reopened the debate over whether crude oil produced in different countries or locations constitutes a unified world oil market. The aim of this paper is to study the information flows among Brent, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and the new Medium Sour Crude Oil (SC) futures contract listed on INE futures markets to assess whether the trading of this new futures contract has altered the dominant role of the most traded oil benchmarks in the world.
