ANTHROPOMORPHIC WOODEN RELIQUARIES FROM KNOWLEDGE TO RESTORATION

Two wood anthropomorphic reliquaries, belonging to the Lipsanoteca of Epiphany Church in Trapani (Italy) were restored following the consevative restoration procedures based on an interdisciplinary approach. The hystoric-artistic contextualization, the constitutive materials and executive techniques were defined and physical-chemical-biological factors involved in degradation events were evaluated. The Saints relic (human bone or teeth), present in each reliquary were analysed through visual investigation. After restoration, the manufacts showed their peculiarities and their extraordinary cultural value.

Non-Syndrome Patient with Multiple Supernumerary Teeth: Case Report

Polydentia is a variation in excess in the number of the teeth. Supernumerary teeth appear, especially in the maxilla, mostly between the central incisors (mesiodens) and in molars region. These positions are followed by the maxillary fourth molars, maxillary paramolars, mandibular premolars, maxillary lateral incisors, mandibular fourth molars and maxillary premolars. Supernumerary teeth may occur in single or multiple numbers bilateral occurrence is uncommon. It is rare to find multiple supernumeraries in individuals with no other associated disease or syndrome. The purpose of this study is to present, a case with mutiple supernumerary teeth in non-syndrome patient.

8 pages; International audience; In a sandy agricultural soil of south-west of France, continuously cultivated with maize and amended with sewage-sludge over 20 years, the behavior of three trace metals (Cu, Pb, and Zn) was studied during the sludge applications (1974-1993) and after its cessation (1993-1998). Using the delta13C analysis, the dynamics of different sources of organic matter were followed in order to elucidate the influence of the sludge-derived organic matter on the fate of trace metals in the soil and its particle size fractions. Pd/Au/SiC Nanostructured Diodes for Nanoelectronics: Room Temperature Electrical Properties

Pd/Au/SiC nanostructured Schottky diodes were fabricated embedding Au nanoparticles (NPs) at the metalsemiconductor interface of macroscopic Pd/SiC contacts. The Au NPs mean size was varied controlling the temperature and time of opportune annealing processes. The electrical characteristics of the nanostructured diodes were studied as a function of the NPs mean size. In particular, using the standard theory of thermoionic emission, we obtained the effective Schottky barrier height (SBH) and the effective ideality factor observing their dependence on the annealing time and temperature being the signature of their dependence on the mean NP size. We investigate the effects of localized controlled nanometric inhomogeneities, represented by Au nanoparticles, on the electrical properties of Pd/SiC Schottky diodes. In particular, we investigate the effects of the nanoparticle radius R on the current-voltage characteristics. The main result concerns the strong dependence of the effective Schottky barrier height of the Pd/SiC contact on R, giving a practical technique to tailor, in a wide range, such a barrier height by simply changing the process parameters during the diode preparation. Ion-Induced Energy Pulse Mechanism for Single-Event Burnout in High-Voltage SiC Power MOSFETs and Junction Barrier Schottky Diodes

Heavy ion data suggest that a common mechanism is responsible for single-event burnout in 1200 V power MOSFETs and junction barrier Schottky diodes. Similarly, heavy ion data suggest a common mechanism is also responsible for leakage current degradation in both devices. This mechanism, based on ion-induced, highlylocalized energy pulses, is demonstrated in simulations and shown to be capable of causing degradation and singleevent burnout for both the MOSFETs and JBS diodes. peerReviewed
