Trace elements and stable isotopes in penguin chicks and eggs: A baseline for monitoring the Ross Sea MPA and trophic transfer studies.

Multi-tissue trace elements (TEs), C, N concentrations and stable isotopes (δ13C, δ15N) of chick carcasses and eggs of Adelie and Emperor penguins were studied to i) provide reference data before the recent institution of the Ross Sea Marine Protected Area (Antarctica), and ii) provide conversion factors that allow estimating C, N, δ13C and δ15N in edible tissues from non-edible ones, thus improving the use of stable isotopes in contamination and trophic transfer studies. Higher concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mn and Pb were found in chick carcasses than in eggs, suggesting increasing contamination in recent decades and high toxicity risks for penguin consumers. Settore ICAR/21 - UrbanisticaIn a framework in which the crisis is globalized but unequal and in the absence of a welfare system capable of responding to the urgencies of the most marginalized contexts and social groups a response to the new social and individual needs has been offered by networks of solidarity and from bottom-up mobilization practices that play a role of territorial agency often independently or in the absence of institutions. In the Palermo context a commitment made by a plurality of cultural subjects already active in the area gathered in a public assembly (Palermo si cura) during the period of the first lockdown gave rise to mutual aid actions to respond to the economic emergency and social and offer a proposal to cure the fragility of the city based not on charity but on the claim of a political dimension of collective action. Starting from the analysis of initiatives such as "Un sorriso per Ballarò" and "Abbiamo un (bi)sogno" the contribution analyzes the role the incidence and the fragility of these experiences in providing answers - often filling gaps - to a general interest and how these processes of value creation can hopefully contribute to the construction of local government policies capable of addressing emerging issues.

In recent years biological processes modelling and simulation have become two key issues in analyzing complex cellular systems. The computational requirements suggest to investigate alternative solutions to the common supercomputers and clusters in order to optimize and overcome computational bottleneck. Il contributo si incentra poi sull'istruttoria tecnico-scientifica e la motivazione sulla non manifesta infondatezza delle questioni di legittimità costituzionale aventi ad oggetto la disciplina sull'obbligo vaccinale e sugli aspetti problematici dell'ordinanza di rimessione del CGARS.

Nella fiaba illustrata di Dino Buzzati La famosa invasione degli orsi in Sicilia (1945) e nella sua trasposizione filmica ad opera di Lorenzo Mattotti (2019) l’ambientazione siciliana è determinante. In entrambi i casi la Sicilia è un’isola con un grande vulcano – trasfigurata in un ambiente fantastico o riscritta secondo alcuni stereotipi – che i due autori utilizzano con accezioni diverse nella costituzione dell’ecosistema delle loro narrazioni. In both cases Sicily is an island with a large volcano – transfigured into a fantastic setting or rewritten according to certain stereotypes – that the two authors use with different meanings within the ecosystem of their narratives. Only through a comparison between the two works will it be possible to distinguish the representation of the two Sicilies which are narrated within an interval of about seventy years. If one does not consider the story of the Bears merely a children’s fairy tale using simplistic stylistic devices but on the contrary sees it as an opportunity for the author to deal with serious and complex issues such as an ante litteram Ecocritical perspective or questions of inter-group conflicts derived from Subaltern or Migration Studies the images of the two Sicilies can provide altogether new interpretations.
