An account on the non-malacostracan crustacean fauna from the inland waters of Crete, Greece, with the synonymization of Arctodiaptomus piliger Brehm…

2019

The Mediterranean bioregion is widely recognised as a biodiversity hotspot and its inland waters are among the species richest ecosystems of the northern hemisphere. However, the extent of such biodiversity has not been totally unravelled, especially in the Mediterranean islands. Here we present a first account of the crustaceans inhabiting 21 permanent and temporary ponds in Crete, the largest of the Greek islands and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. The ponds, sampled between 2009 and 2018, cover all the island surface even though their number cannot be considered exhaustive to represent the entire non-malacostracan fauna of the island. Nevertheless, 46 taxa were identif…

Measuring dispositional optimism in patients with chronic heart failure and their healthcare providers: The validity of the Life Orientation Test-Rev…

Controversy has arisen regarding the dimensionality of the LOT-R. Whereas DO was originally defined as a one-dimensional construct, empiri…

MIASTENIA GRAVIS ED ESOFAGITE EOSINOFILA IN ADOLESCENTE CON LES

2019

Item weighted Kemeny distance for preference data

2019

Preference data represent a particular type of ranking data where a group of people gives their preferences over a set of alternatives. The traditional metrics between rankings don’t take into account that the importance of elements can be not uniform. In this paper the item weighted Kemeny distance is introduced and its properties demonstrated.

2003

The paper proposes the application of two different methodologies, based on the Traditional Test Theory (TTT) and on the Modern Test Theory (IRT), to select the items of a questionnaire administered in the year 2000 to the personnel of the Hospital Firm “Careggi” in Florence, in order to analyse the satisfaction of “internal consumers”. Such methodologies provide very different results, depending on the assumptions of the different models used.

Contribution to the analysis of signals obtained by dynamic photon emission for the purpose of studying very large scale integration circuits

2014

Scaling progresses has the benefit of making chips always more powerful. On the other hand, when there is a failure, the analysis of such advanced devices has became more sensitive. The defect localization step of this process is the critical one. Indeed, the aim is to find transistors which dimensions range in several nanometers on a device which surface is several square centimeters.Optical techniques like dynamical photon emission, also named Time Resolved Imaging (TRI), have proved to fit in such context. The later is based on the acquisition and exploitation of photons emitted by a switching CMOS structure. Due to its physical bacground, this tool has a limited invasive effect and can …

Spanish validation of the Sexual Addiction Screening Test.

2018

Background and aims Sexual addiction is a pathological behavior characterized by a combination of excessive sexual desire and impaired ability to control it. Its incidence ranges between 1.2% and 32.2%, although this number may vary depending on the screening tool used. This wide variability is largely due to the use of non-validated instruments (e.g., structural validity relying on exploratory analyses, instruments translated without an additional validation process, or instruments validated in another format). To deal with these limitations, this study tested the psychometric properties of the Spanish paper-and-pencil and online versions of the Sexual Addiction Screening Test (SAST). Met…

Analysis and recognition of vibratory signals : contribution to the treatment and analysis of cardiac signals for telemedecine

2014

The heart is a muscle. Its mechanical operation is like a pump charged for distributing and retrieving the blood in the lungs and cardiovascular system. Its electrical operation is regulated by the sinus node, a pacemaker or electric regulator responsible for triggering the natural heart beats that punctuate the functioning of the body.Doctors monitor the electromechanical functioning of the heart by recording an electrical signal called an electrocardiogram (ECG) or an audible signal : the phonocardiogram (PCG). The analysis and processing of these two signals are essential for diagnosis, to help detect anomalies and cardiac pathologies. The objective of this thesis is to develop signal pro…
