Abstract. The Smartphone Addiction Inventory (SPAI) is widely used to measure problematic smartphone use (PSU). Although the SPAI has been translated and validated in different countries, its measurement invariance across gender has received little research attention. This study aimed to examine whether men and women interpreted the Italian version of the SPAI (SPAI-I) similarly and, consequently, whether the observed gender differences in SPAI scores, which have been shown in previous studies, could be due to true differences, rather than to differences in measurement. ABSTRACTIt is assumed from a usage-based perspective that learner language constructions emerge from natural language use in social interaction through exemplar learning. In L1, young learners have been shown to develop their constructions from lexically specific, formulaic expressions into more productive, abstract schemas. Having numerous views is necessary for a reliable reconstruction but projections of skeletons lead to different topologies. We reconstruct 3D objects with curved medial axis (whose topology is a tree) from the perspective skeletons on an arbitrary number of calibrated acquisitions. Šā darba mērķis bija pētīt īpatnības un iespējamās problēmas, kas varētu parādīties tulkojot Dorling Kindersley (DK) tūrisma ceļvežus Great Britain un Lielbritānija, kā arī Small Luxury Hotels of the Wolrd (SLH) portfolio. Functionally-defined recurrent multi-word units in English-to-Polish translation

This study uses both parallel and comparable reference corpora in the English-Polish language pair to explore how translators deal with recurrent multi-word items performing specific discoursal functions.We also consider whether the observed tendencies overlap with those found in native texts,and the extent to which the discoursal functions realised by themulti-word items under scrutiny are “preserved” in translation. Contrariamente alle opinioni precedentemente proposte in dottrina, si dimostra come l'agere pro tutela coincidesse con l'agere del tutor ad litem nei casi di oblatio litis ovvero, anteriormente al I sec. d.C., nelle ipotesi di infantia del pupillo o di assenza del pupillo o della mulier.
