Neuromuscular Fatigue Following Isometric Contractions with Similar Torque Time Integral

International audience; Torque time integral (TTI) is the combination of intensity and duration of a contraction. The aim of this study was to compare neuromuscular alterations following different isometric sub-maximal contractions of the knee extensor muscles but with similar TTI. Sixteen participants performed 3 sustained contractions at different intensities (25 %, 50 %, and 75 % of Maximal Voluntary Contraction (MVC) torque) with different durations (68.5 +/- 33.4 s, 35.1 +/- 16.8 s and 24.8 +/- 12.9 s, respectively) but similar TTI value. The purpose was to examine the effects of a round trip trans-American jet travel on performance, hormonal alterations, and recovery. Ten matched pairs of recreationally trained men were randomized to either a compression group (COMP) ( n = 10; age: 23.1 ± 2.4 yr; height: 174.8 ± 5.3 cm; body mass: 84.9 ± 10.16 kg; body fat: 15.3 ± 6.0%) or control group (CONT) ( n = 9; age: 23.2 ± 2.3 yr; height: 177.5 ± 6.3 cm; weight: 84.3 ± 8.99 kg; body fat: 15.1 ± 6.4%). The objective of this study was to evaluate the 1-year safety and effectiveness outcomes associated with the PQ Bypass DETOUR System (PQ Bypass, Milpitas, Calif) for the percutaneous bypass of long-segment femoropopliteal occlusive disease.This prospective, single-arm, multicenter trial enrolled patients with long-segment femoropopliteal arterial disease. Il complesso di Santa Maria di Gesù ad Alcamo tra XV e XVI secolo

Le trasformazioni e i “restauri” attuati nel complesso dei Francescani Osservanti di Alcamo hanno irrimediabilmente cancellato la facies tardogotica che la fabbrica doveva possedere all’atto della fondazione (ultimi decenni del XV sec.). Tuttavia la storia dell’edificio, i suoi committenti e patrocinatori, il conte di Modica Fadrique Enriquez, futuro Grande Almirante di Castiglia, e la consorte Anna Cabrera, la qualità dei frammenti superstiti e le notizie in nostro possesso offrono temi degni di attenzione e alcuni aspetti in grado di aprire la vicenda della fabbrica a un contesto geografico e culturale più ampio.
