Reliktisten makroäyriäisten elintapoja on tutkittu maailmanlaajuisestikin hämmästyttävän vähän eikä etenkään elinympäristönsä suhteen vaativana pidetystä jättikatkasta (Gammaracanthus lacustris) ole tehty julkaisuja juuri lainkaan. Since parental burnout can have detrimental consequences for parents, couples, and children, easy-to-use, reliable, and valid practical tools for the early detection of parental burnout are required. We developed and validated a brief scale to identify burned-out parents and parents at burnout risk. In Study 1, we developed the 5-item Brief Parental Burnout scale (BPBs) based on the gold standard measure of parental burnout, the Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA). Many works on surrogate-assisted evolutionary multiobjective optimization have been devoted to problems where function evaluations are time-consuming (e.g., based on simulations). In many real-life optimization problems, mathematical or simulation models are not always available and, instead, we only have data from experiments, measurements or sensors. Pro gradu -tutkielma käsittelee Roland Barthesin konnotaatiotapoja sarjakuvan ja digitaalisen pelin kontekstissa. Tutkielman kohteena on Steve Purcellin Sam & Max -sarja, joka on jatkunut 1980-luvulta nykypäivään siirtyen mediavälineestä toiseen, mutta silti alkuperäisen tekijänsä suunnittelemana. Työn aineisto käsittää alkuperäisen sarjakuvasarjan lisäksi myös vuonna 1993 julkaistun Sam & Max Hit the Road -pelin sekä 2000-luvulla julkaistun uuden pelisarjan kaksi ensimmäistä tuotantokautta. Tavoitteena on estimoida luotettavasti luokitteluvirheen todennäköisyys opetusaineiston avulla - ideaalissa tilanteessa käyttäen riippumatonta testiaineistoa. Tällöin saadaan estimaatti yleistämisvirheelle, joka kuvaa opetusaineistosta estimoidun mallin kykyä ennustaa riippumatonta testiaineistoa. Usein kuitenkin aineiston niukkuudesta johtuen ei voida käyttää erillistä riippumatonta testiaineistoa, jolloin ei myöskään voida estimoida suoraan yleistämisvirhettä.
