Scent of Jasmine Attracts Alien Invaders and Records on Citizen Science Platforms: Multiple Introductions of the Invasive Lacebug Corythauma ayyari (…
2020
Simple Summary The distribution of the lacebug Corythauma ayyari, a pest species associated to jasmine plants, has been updated using collections and citizen-science data. The path of introduction of this species in Italy has been inferred with molecular analysis. The results revealed an extent of occurrence in Italy wider than was previously known and the evidence of multiple introduction events. The work shows that citizen science can represent a further tool within the early warning information system for alien species introduction. Abstract The jasmine lacebug Corythauma ayyari is a pest of cultivated and ornamental plants mainly associated to Jasminum spp. This invasive insect is nativ…
Effects of natural extracts in the treatment of oral ulcers: A systematic review of evidence from experimental studies in animals
2021
Background To evaluate the clinical and histopathological effects of natural extracts in the treatment of oral ulcers induced in animal experimental models. Material and methods We carried out a search in the Medline, Scopus, WoS and Embase databases from the start of the databases to December 2020, and also made a manual search of the references. The search and selection were carried out by two researchers independently. The inclusion criteria were: experimental studies in animal models, in english, which complied with the study object. Results A total of 705 articles were identified. After selection by title, abstract and full text, 19 articles were finally included. Natural extracts of J…
First Report of Phytophthora spp. as Pathogens of Pandorea jasminoides in Italy
2019
In the summer of 2005, approximately 5% of a nursery stock of 12-month-old potted plants of bower vine (Pandorea jasminoides (Lindl.) K. Schum.) in Sicily (Italy) showed wilt, leaf chlorosis, defoliation, root rot, and collapse of the entire plant. Three Phytophthora spp. (20, 50, and 30% of the isolations of the first, second, and third species, respectively) were isolated from rotted roots on BNPRAH selective medium (2). Single-hypha isolates of the first species formed petaloid colonies on potato dextrose agar (PDA) and had an optimum growth temperature of 25°C (9.3 mm/day); on V8 juice agar, they produced uni- and bipapillate, ovoid to limoniform sporangia with mean dimensions of 45 × …

Formy kobiecej pamięci o doświadczeniu wojennym utrwalone w literaturze pięknej w Bośni i Hercegowinie

The memory of the experience of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992–1995) is a phenomenon strongly present in contemporary literature. The subject of my interest is the specificity of women’s memory, which is characterized primarily by anti‑war and anti‑military discourse, which is a fundamental feature of women’s writing about the war, breaking the patriarchal code (statement by Swietlana Aleksijewicz). A notable feature of women’s creativity in BiH is that the memory of war is revealed in it in two fundamentally different ways: 1. a direct description of war experiences and experiences is usually visible in the texts of the authors of the older generation (Alma Lazarevska; Jasmina Mus…
