Deep Convolutional Neural Network Based Object Detection Inference Acceleration Using FPGA

2022

Object detection is one of the most challenging yet essential computer vision research areas. It means labeling and localizing all known objects of interest on an input image using tightly fit rectangular bounding boxes around the objects. Object detection, having passed through several evolutions and progressions, nowadays relies on the successes of image classification networks based on deep convolutional neural networks. However, as the depth and complication of convolutional neural networks increased, detection speed reduced, and accuracy increased. Unfortunately, most computer vision applications, such as real-time object tracking on an embedded system, requires lightweight, fast and a…

Endcap MS vertex efficiencies (in %) for baryogenesis $\chi \rightarrow \tau\tau\nu$ benchmark samples ($m_{h}=125$ GeV). The vertex reconstruction efficiency is defined as the fraction of simulated LLP decays in the MS fiducial volume that match a reconstructed vertex ($\Delta R(\textrm{LLP,vertex}) = 0.4$) passing the baseline event selection and satisfying the vertex isolation criteria. A vertex is considered matched to a displaced decay if the vertex is within $\Delta R = 0.4$ of the simulated decay position. The MS vertex efficiency is parameterized as a function of the LLP decay position.

Mueller–Navelet Jets at the LHC

2015

We report on our NLL BFKL studies of the Mueller–Navelet jets. We first perform a complete NLL BFKL analysis supplemented by a BLM renormalization scale fixing procedure, which is successfully compared with recent CMS data. Second, we argue for the need of a measurement of an asymmetric jet configuration in order to perform a valuable comparison with fixed order approaches. Third, we predict that the energy-momentum violation is rather tiny in the NLL BFKL approach, for an asymmetric jet configuration. Finally, we argue that the double parton scattering contribution is negligible in the kinematics of actual CMS measurements. peerReviewed

Etude et modélisation du comportement des gouttelettes de produits phytosanitaires sur les feuilles de vignes par imagerie ultra-rapide et analyse de…

2013

In the domain of vineyard precision spraying research, one of the most importantobjectives is to minimize the volume of phytosanitary products ejected bya sprayer in order to be more environmentally respectful with more effectivevine leaf treatments. Unfortunaltely, even if lot of works have been carriedout at a parcel scale, mainly on losses caused by drift, less works have beencarried out at the leaf scale in order to understand which parameters influencethe spray quality. Since few years, recent improvements in image processing, sensitivity of imaging systems and cost reduction have increased the interestof high-speed imaging techniques. Analyzing the behavior of droplets afterimpact with…

Souffrir en musique

1994

Suffering to Music - Although, in its relation to suffering, music is generally reputed for possessing therapeutic virtues, several iconographie and written sources dating from the thirteenth to the fifteenth centuries attribute a harmful influence to music. This ambivalence was based on the correlation between the intensity of suffering and that of the sonorous quality of musical instruments, which in the Middle Ages were divided into two great families in accordance to the sound volume they produced. Consequently it was according to their high and strident or low and soft sonorities that the instruments were thought to act on suffering, either amplifying it or alleviating it.

Le droit privé de la Révolution : héritage législatif et héritage idéologique

2002

Jean-Louis Halpérin, Private Law and the Revolution : Legislative Heritage and Ideological Heritage. The private law of the French Revolution is to-day no longer considered an intermediary law. Yet from a positivist point of view, most of the provisions enacted in this area between 1788 to 1799 were of short duration. Indeed, a large part of revolutionary private law is made up of bills and drafts which were never implemented. This singularity invites us to ponder the legal ideological nature of a law which barely left the drawing-board and its impact in France and abroad.

Bench-scale investigation of inclined dense jets

2005

In this work experimental data on the geometry of dense inclined jets issuing in a lab-scale glass rectangular tank are presented. The surrounding fluid was always tap water at room temperature while the dense jets were water solutions of NaCl. Four parameters were changed in the experiments, namely nozzle diameter and inclination, and jet density and flow rate. Jet trajectories were revealed by a colored tracer. Images of the jet were recorded by a digital camera and then further digitally processed, eventually resulting in a time-averaged tracer intensity field. All the jet geometrical parameters, once normalized, were found to be very well correlated to the densimetric Froude number. Mod…
