Differential production cross-section, normalized to the measured inclusive W boson cross-section, as a function of fourth jet rapidity for events with four or more jets produced in association with a W boson. First uncertainty is statistical, second uncertainty is systematic.

Differential production cross-section, normalized to the measured inclusive W boson cross-section, as a function of rapidity separation between the two highest pT jets for events with three or more jets produced in association with a W boson. First uncertainty is statistical, second uncertainty is systematic.
Variability and polarization in the inner jet of 3C 395
2001
We present new results on the parsec-scale jet of the quasar 3C395, derived from VLBI polarization sensitive observations made in 1995.91 and 1998.50 at 8.4, 15.4 and 22.2 GHz. The observations show a complex one-sided jet extending up to 20 mas, with a projected magnetic field essentially aligned with the radio jet. The emission is strongly dominated, in total intensity and polarization, by the core and the inner jet region (of ~3 mas length). We have studied the details of this dominant region finding clear structural variations during this ~2.5 years period, in contrast with the apparent quietness of the jet structure inferred from lower resolution VLBI observations. We observe the eject…
Autonomous management of Quality of Service and security in an Internet of Things environment
2019
Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming important in our daily lives thanks to technological advances. This paradigm aims to improve the quality of human life through automating several tasks. In this context, service level guarantee within IoT environments is a major challenge while considering a massive deployment of IoT applications and services as well as extending their usage to different domains. The IoT service level can be characterized in two parts: Quality of Service (QoS) and security. Moreover, this service level must be managed in an autonomic manner within the IoT environment given the heterogeneity and the size of its infrastructure making it difficult, even imposs…
Internet of things: an exploratory study of the co-creation of value
2016
Internet Of Things (IoT) provides consumers a continuous access to real-time notifications and data. Using the « Service-Dominant Logic Theory » framework (Vargo and Lusch, 2004), this paper aims to compare brands value propositions and consumer perceptions regarding bracelets and smart watches. Data analysis is based on two sets of data collections: the first concerns the content of eight manufacturers websites; the second comes from a non-participant observation of consumer opinions about connected devices (netnography). Results show a typology of gains and pains, significant interactions between the different value components and consumers’ compensation phenomena. Furthermore, discrepanc…
Production of a forward J/ψ and a backward jet at LHC
2016
We study the production at the LHC of a forward J/ψ meson and a backward jet with a large rapidity separation using the BFKL formalism. We give predictions for both the Non Relativistic QCD (NRQCD) approach to charmonium production and the Color Evaporation Model. In NRQCD, we find that the 3S18 part of the onium wavefunction is completely dominating the process, which makes the presented study a good probe for this color octet contribution. peerReviewed
The Highly Collimated Radio Jet of HH 80–81: Structure and Nonthermal Emission
2017
Radio emission from protostellar jets is usually dominated by free-free emission from thermal electrons. However, in some cases, it has been proposed that non-thermal emission could also be present. This additional contribution from non-thermal emission has been inferred through negative spectral indices at centimeter wavelengths in some regions of the radio jets. In the case of HH 80-81, one of the most powerful protostellar jets known, linearly polarized emission has also been detected, revealing that the non-thermal emission is of synchrotron nature from a population of relativistic particles in the jet. This result implies that an acceleration mechanism should be taking place in some pa…
Agent-based model for the rescheduling of Individual and collective daily activities under uncertainties
2020
Daily activity schedule are popular for people duringdaily life. While, when executing the schedule on the real road network, there are always some disruptions disturbing the planned schedule. To deal with this problem, daily activity rescheduling is necessary. This thesis regards the disruptions from the activity schedule execution environment as unexpected events (uncertainties). It establishes agent-based models to simulate the activity rescheduling decision process from the aspects of individual activity rescheduling and joint trip renegotiating. For the individual activity rescheduling, the model in this thesis wants to explore the relationship between a pair of episodes (two connected …
