Failure maps to assess bearing performances of glass composite laminates

Aim of this article is the assessment of the bearing mechanical performances of pin-loaded glass laminates as function of their geometrical configuration. To this concern, 32 specimens having different hole diameter (D), laminate width (W), and hole center to laminate free edge distance (E) have been tested under bearing conditions. The maximum bearing stress and the stress-displacement curves were analyzed as function both of hole to laminate free edge distance E and hole diameter D. Assessing the influence of fieldshaper material on magnetic pulse welded interface of Al/Cu joints

Abstract Fieldshaper (FS) is a widely used component in magnetic pulse forming and welding to improve the efficiency of the process. It enables to increase the magnetic pressure experienced by the workpieces during forming and welding. Recent developments in this subject focuses to increase the life time of the fieldshaper and to improve the efficiency by introducing shape optimized designs. Inflammasome activation in Ankylosing Spondylitis is associated to gut dysbiosis

Objective: We undertook this study to evaluate the activation and functional relevance of inflammasome pathways in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients and rodent models and their relationship to dysbiosis. Methods: An inflammasome pathway was evaluated in the gut and peripheral blood from 40 AS patients using quantitative reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), immunohistochemistry (IHC), flow cytometry, and confocal microscopy, and was compared to that of 20 healthy controls and 10 patients with Crohn’s disease. Association study of MMP8 gene in osteoarthritis.

Objectives: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint disease common in the elderly. There is a prior functional evidence for different matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), such as MMP8 and MMP9, having a role in the breakdown of cartilage extracellular matrix in OA. Thus, we analyzed whether the common genetic variants of MMP8 and MMP9 contribute to the risk of OA. Las coaliciones tarsianas como causa de dolor en el pie infantil: opciones terapéuticas

Resumen Antecedentes y objetivo La coalicion tarsiana puede ser causa de dolor de medio-retropie en ninos mayores. El objetivo es analizar los tipos de coalicion tratados en nuestro centro hospitalario de 2010 a 2019 asi como el tratamiento realizado. Material y metodo Estudio observacional, descriptivo y retrospectivo de 18 pacientes con coalicion tarsiana, 8 mujeres y 10 hombres, de 11,9 ± 2,6 anos de edad. Se recogieron datos epidemiologicos, hallazgos clinicos y de pruebas de imagen y tratamiento realizado. Resultados Se revisaron 25 pies (38,8% bilaterales). El principal sintoma fue el dolor.
