Working the fields of big data : Using big-data-augmented online ethnography to study candidate–candidate interaction at election time

The paper proposes big-data-augmented ethnography as a novel mixed-methods approach to studying political discussions in a hybrid media system. Using such empirical setup, the authors examined candidate–candidate online interaction during election campaigning. Candidate–candidate interaction crossing party boundaries is scarce and occurs in the form of negative campaigning via social media, with the shaming of rival candidates and engaging in battles with them. Interaction between students and class teachers in vocational education and training: ‘Safety distance is needed’

Interaction between students and teachers is fundamental and has therefore been widely studied in education. However, there have been few studies on intensive spe-cial support being provided to vocational education and training (VET) students. Firstly, the focus of this article is on students’ perceptions of interactions with their class teachers. Students (aged 17–34 years) from four Finnish vocational institutions providing intensive special support were interviewed. Laadullisen tutkimuksen päätavoitteena oli pureutua siihen, miten opettaja ymmärtää ja rakentaa pedagogisen auktoriteettinsa koulun arjessa. This study contributes to the literature on the supervisors’ role in employee well-being by drawing on two separate lines of research: transformational leadership and organizational justice. The purpose of the study was to investigate the unique contributions of transformational and fair leadership (justice behaviours of supervisors) on work engagement and exhaustion among employees within the framework of the Job Demands-Resources model (Bakker and Demerouti, 2007). Is Broad the New Deep in Environmental Ethics? A Comparison of Broad Ecological Justice and Deep Ecology

I argue in this article that a theory of broad ecological justice or the extended capabilities approach, an interesting approach in contemporary environmental ethics, shares many of its core ideas with deep ecology and Arne Næss’s ecosophy T. The similarities between these approaches include the ambition to address the roots of environmental problems, emphasis on recognition and the criticism of oppressive structures, and a systemic orientation. Przedmiotem glosy jest wyrok Naczelnego Sądu Administracyjnego z 8.01.2020 r., I OSK 2392/19, w którym przyjęto tezę, że art. 17 ust. 5 pkt 1 lit. a ustawy o świadczeniach rodzinnych prawidłowo zinterpretowany powinien być w ten sposób rozumiany, iż pozbawia prawa do świadczenia pielęgnacyjnego tylko do wysokości otrzymywanej emerytury. Horizons de justice de l'école, en France et aux États-Unis

Social inequalities of educational careers are stronger in France than in the US, while most of the other indicators of equity are roughly equal. This can be related to the existence of paths in the French educational system, which do not exist in the more comprehensive american systems. More deeply, it can be related to the fact that equity in the US is conceived as fairness of the process of empowerment of students while it is conceived in France as the independence of the educational merit with the social capital.
