A Model for ERD2 Function in Higher Plants

ER lumenal proteins have a K(H)DEL motif at their C-terminus. This is recognized by the ERD2 receptor (KDEL receptor in animals), which localizes to the Golgi apparatus and serves to capture escaped ER lumenal proteins. ERD2-ligand complexes are then transported back to the ER via COPI coated vesicles. The neutral pH of the ER causes the ligands to dissociate with the receptor being returned to the Golgi. According to this generally accepted scenario, ERD2 cycles between the ER and the Golgi, although it has been found to have a predominant Golgi localization. Breakup and default risks in the great lockdown

Abstract In this paper, we exploit CDS quotes for contracts denominated in different currencies and with different default clauses to estimate the risk of a breakup of the Eurozone and the propagation of breakup and default risks after the COVID-19 shock. Our main result is that the risk of a Eurozone breakup is significant although, quantitatively, it is not larger than in the period before the COVID-19 shock. In addition, we find that an increase in the redenomination risk in one country is associated with an increase in default premia and bond spreads in other Eurozone countries. Activation of the Proapoptotic Unfolded Protein Response in Plaques of the Human Carotid Artery

Objective To analyze expression of keystone markers of apoptosis and the proapoptotic signaling pathway “unfolded protein response” (UPR) in rupture-prone plaques of the human carotid artery. Methods Plaque specimens were obtained during endarterectomy for high-grade carotid stenosis, and were formalin-fixed. Ten specimens were identified that exhibited criteria of advanced rupture-prone atherosclerotic plaques, and histological and immunohistological analysis of markers of apoptosis (cleaved Caspase-3, TUNEL) and UPR (KDEL, ATF3, CHOP, CHAC-1) was performed. The current and upcoming generation of Very Large Volume Neutrino Telescopes – collecting unprecedented quantities of neutrino events – can be used to explore subtle effects in oscillation physics, such as (but not restricted to) the neutrino mass ordering. The sensitivity of an experiment to these effects can be estimated from Monte Carlo simulations. With the high number of events that will be collected, there is a trade-off between the computational expense of running such simulations and the inherent statistical uncertainty in the determined values. Tämän kvalitatiivisen tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää ahvenanmaalaisten kieliasenteita suomen kieltä kohtaan sekä millainen on yleinen käsitys ahvenmaalaisten kielellisestä identiteetistä kahdessa suurimmassa ahvenanmaalaisessa paikallislehdessä. Materiaali koostuu 64 erilaisesta mielipide- ja pääkirjoitusartikkelista, jotka on julkaistu 1.1.2007 – 31.12.2012 Nya Åland ja Ålandstidningen -lehdissä. Tutkimusmetodina käytettiin sisällönanalyysia ja diskurssianalyysiä. In surveillance tasks, this model helps to recognize those outlier objects in an area under monitoring. Ohjelmalla voidaan havainnollistaa riskejä monenlaisten graafisten esitysten, taulukoiden ja riskilukujen avulla. Tällä hetkellä sillä voidaan havainnollistaa demografiaa, korko- ja osakesijoittamista sekä klassista vararikkoteoriaa.
